I'm assuming you've updated rather than done a clean install, Simrick? I've had similar instances of a "nasty" hanging on when I updated, but when I did a clean install, it went away. Which may not work in all instances, but generally does for me.
Yes, I updated, because I wanted to see how that would go - if some of my issues would go away - and then clean install only if I have to. And, yes, I can say most every issue I had is gone, with the exception of the alphabet on the start menu and a couple minor things.

I've finally got my audio working with Cortana, my AMD video drivers....I am really not looking forward to going through all that again, but I may have to. @Kari - I even have Expression video working and am looking forward to doing more "how to" vids!

I found that with a clean install of(10162) the AMD drivers installed without an issue.. I was surprised. And the audio drivers installed as well.. shock or just a pleasant experience.. not sure yet.

I've not long started 10 for today and checked Updates and have the latest build coming in. Why is it though that there is always a Defender update that wants to come in before the new build, the damn things not wanted as I checked Defender and it was up to date and didn't need any updates.

Hi, newbie here who has been trying out W10 builds since they started. Just a quick query - if you are never going to use Cortana, where in 'Services' can you totally disable it? It's hogging too much RAM!

Thanks for the Idea Wynona. I installed Win 10-10162 clean on an old eSata enclosure with a 1 TB drive it it works great. When I want to go back to Windows 7 I just reboot and turn off the eSata device and I boot into Windows 7. I sould have done this months ago. Thank You
Uhhhhh, you're welcome, I think . . . I'm not sure how using an external drive for data and downloads keyed you to your solution, but stranger things have happened, I guess.

I have the feeling that Cortana is attached to the general Windows Search service, so I'm not sure we can get rid of her completely easily.
I may be mistaken, though, and I also look forward to knowing more about this matter.
    Cheers!

OK, I think that you mentioned that after changing the text size of specific items, some of them would not stick to their new value, is that right?
It's working as expected on my end, but take into account that I do not modify the general zoom setting. That is set at its original 100%. If I change the zoom, the specific item text size values are reset to their default, and I cannot change them because they're greyed out. This has been an on and off issue. I've been able to reproduce it in some builds, whereas in others works just fine.

I'll look into it and see if I can find out something else.
    Hello,

When I've referred to that bug in my post #337 I meant that it is happening when the so called "Zoom" is at its default, so at 100%. When the "Zoom" is taken to another value the "Change only the text size" feature is grayed out / unavailable. I am not sure if this unavailability is a bug or if this is the way it is supposed to work. I'm more certain that the bug is what I mention in my #337 post: at the default Zoom when changing the Title bar and Menus to, lets say, "12", when you then set what follows to "12", the Menus decrease their size again. They seem to return to size "9" again. Now that, I think, is a bug. Kind of impossible to be supposed to work this way.

Jeff, my AMD issues disappeared with one of the last three updates; don't know which, but now when I click on a news feature I want to watch, no more buffering every three seconds. Literally!
