Since the 10159 is out..login screen has a wallpaper now. Any way to change it? Tried through regedit, didn't work.

Anyone else notice it takes over all your defaults and pushes MS crap onto you? I want Chrome, VLC and Foxit. Not what MS decides. PDF management is most annoying as Edge does not cut it.

    10159

10159 download was very slow, first attempt failed fast lane via Windows Update, I did not initiate that download. I went to Windows Updated and initiated the 2nd attempt, then went to work, It had completed when I got back home tonight.
After it installed it required an additional reboot as my network showed connected but both Edge and Chrome were not showing connected, the 2nd reboot took care of that issue.Whoa! Another Windows 10 PC build! Build 10159-w10build10159.jpg

You can set any default you want, but you must do it yourself. You can't rely on apps to do it for you anymore. Just go into Settings and change the defaults yourself. Stop blaming Microsoft for everything.

    Wholehearted agreement!
As a practise, I work through the settings on a fresh install. The defaults, in particular, are pretty much free choice - Much as they have always been in MS OSs.

That one of my pet peeves with windows 10, forcing you to go somewhere else and not let the app be able to choose the default. Especially if you have tons of 3rd party apps. I hope that changes back to like it use to be with previous builds when rtm comes out. I can see that as a Major Compliant a lot of windows 10 users will have and maybe even some developers like Google, Firefox, Opera, etc. in fact this has been a complaint in the feedback and it is not a small number.

I for one hope they don't change it back. This way I can be sure my personal settings are carved in stone as long as I need and 3rd party apps, not limited to browsers, stop pestering me with asking for changing the defaults.

It to prevent default hijacking. If you want a default, then change it yourself. Otherwise, it's too easy for you to get your defaults hijacked by an application without your permission. In fact, it even says that an app is trying to set the default, and gives you instructions on how to change your defaults.

Imagine an app that hijacks your default settings but then launches whatever your previous default was, in this way it can take over your defaults without you realizing it, and do all kinds of nasty things...

If only the same rigour was applied to Toolbars, Homepages, Search pages, Favourites, Desktop shortcuts, Ingame overlays (e.g. Nvidia) etc... we might have nice things
