The last time I dual booted 8.1 and 10, 10 did something to my 8.1 drive. I had the Windows 8.1 drive unplugged when installing 10. Then plugged it back in, booted to 10 then to 8.1. 8.1 then reported errors or something and had to do a repair. It did eventually boot up, but I always wondered what Windows 10 did to it?
Happened to my External Hard Drive (NTFS) back in 9841 (early build). Thought I lost 2TB of data...but luckily a chkdisk fixed it!

I made a massive forum post about it on the MS forums...got no reply

    Yay, thanks MS .

I wonder if we'll be able to jump in/out of the Tech Preview, like if there's a broken ass build where the only thing I wanna do is submit feedback for the annoying bug and then revert to Final?
I think that's the point of the TP. To test new builds on a wide variety of machines before releasing to the general public. As far as jumping in and out. We'll know soon enough.

The update in 10030 could not be fixed by doing a chkdisk as NFTS was converted to RAW, in other words the drive was "Locked"
    which of course denied access.

I recounted my experience recently in thread titled "3 security updates"

If my experience is anything to go by duel booting two M$ O/S,s using the same key on the same computer is a no go.

Having had installed W8.1pro and W10 on two separate SSD,s the last update on 10130 converted NTFS on my W10 disk to RAW.

Not to mention my other drive with W8.1 pro needed a Scannow and a Dism before it could become fully operational again.
Here is a screenshoot of grub customizer. I will be upgrading from the windows 10 preview to windows 10 release. No key or proof needed for a previous version. The reason for me need to delay, is if you don't disable grub, new builds will not install at least on my system. Microsoft can't fix that issue that a grub issue. I have an easier way to restore grub using a grub boot cd.

If anyone is interested Xubuntu is on /dev/sda5 and the swap is on /dev/sda6 both are logical partitions. I avoided the windows 10, 7 system reserves partition creation but doing some tricks.

I thought the feedback app will be open to consumer just as well as the insiders. Insiders will be able to re-install the hub though.
