More and more screen area taken up by control elements with every subsequent version - it's a paint program, not a dashboard or lego set for goodness!
Perhaps @EdTittel could write a new book - Windows Finger Painting for Dummies!

One neat thing you can do with Paint 3D, you can view .ico(icons) with out 3rd party software. I have tried modifying, but I doubt it would work like GIMP.
When I double clicked an .ico:

I never had problems opening .ico files for editing in the older versions of MSPaint - they did show up at 100% and not 66%, and the filename was conveniently shown in the title bar, no more now tho:

Yeah, I'll stick to GIMP(with the gimp_iconify2_1 SCM file)
There is a reason I use transparency on my icons. But maybe I could see if I an get a bit of 3D action on my icons, using booth tools.

Downloaded b14971 and installed whilst I was out (so no ESD again).
    Seems to be working.

Both yourself and Edwin need reminding that Microsoft are the sole owners of the O/S, therefore however annoying it is, they can do whatever they wish, also take into account this is Beta so updates are bound to be irregular in content....regards dencal.
When they pay for, and supply, my hardware then they get to claim they own it.

Once my Software Development course ends (Dec 2017) I'll have to spend time my spare time mastering Linux.
Once 2020 arrives MS will no doubt start releasing dodgy updates to finish off W7 and the W8 series.

    Hi,

I don't think it will be that easy. If you type in mspaint.exe in the "Run" box then it launches the revamped version.
Reinstalling the old mspaint.exe will take over and you'll need to create a shortcut on your desktop to launch 3d paint.
Haven't tried that yet, not even sure the two will want to live together in the same box....

    Cheers,
No it doesn't, I just tried. It opens old one. In Open With dialog you can have both as a choice.

I just ran perfmon /report on my Insider VM(used PowerShell this time, although there are many, many ways to run it in).

With Windows 10, no matter what build, it's hit & miss if Performance Monitor completes the tasks of collecting data and composing the report.
    Usually miss

For more information about generating a System Diagnostics Report/System Health Report, see this tutorial from Shawn: System Health Report - Generate and View in Windows 8.1

Also here is a thread I started August 2015, and some of the feedback from other forums members, on how it's hit & miss: System Health Report - Windows 10 Forums

So here is mine today for build 14971, the informationals give me warnings, because this IS a virtual machine and not bare metal, so are to be expected.
Example: Even though my Hyper-V virtual machines are on a second internal SSD, they are only VHDs(virtual hard disks), and not physical, so they will not be as fast as a real one.

The 3rd window shot shows that my system is healthy and running well though. One should NEVER read more into the warning in the first shot, as they are just recommendations on how to improve performance.

What counts, are the "green lights", you can then view what is causing the errors in the drop down menus.

This is actually the only way to find "true" system errors, as using Event Viewer has a lot of erroneous ones(like DCOM), that have nothing to do with performance, and is only for trouble shooting, not finding, errors.
