    Well that's good news, kinda. Least you're not several behind. Like Jeff said, it'll get there eventually, maybe the next one.

    I just wonder why he didn't get the current build. Just another MS mystery I guess.

    Nothing to do with mystery, just MS's control over it! At least I believe it.

    I had read this before. Although it doesn't focus on Insider Builds, per se, it may be part of the underlying strategy of who-gets-what and when. May just be poppycock, maybe not. Interesting, though, regardless of your opinion of the author.

    An excerpt:

    The notion that Microsoft would deliver any major update, and not just this particular update, to known-good configurations first is not new. Microsoft has been doing this since the initial release of Windows 10 a year ago, and it was transparent doing so.

    I don't know if they really do have the control you're suggesting. To me it's first come first serve and for some reason he's not connecting to the server correctly for the latest build.

    not got this build yet
    Try deleting all files in folder

    c:\windows\softwaredistribution

    (not all files can be deleted - just ignore them)

    Wait 10 minutes or so, then search for updates again.

    With a simple Registry tweak, you can enable it in Windows 10.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel]
    "EnableShareSettings"=dword:00000001
