If you really need the control panel, go to C:\Windows\System32, create a shortcut(send to desktop) and pin it somewhere, (Quick access, Start, taskbar, desktop...etc.)

Or better yet, get yourselves Clover 3.1.8 tab browser for File Explorer installed and create a bookmarked tab for it.

I know that eventually we will have to accept new links but until I have to, I like the way it is now on 14393 - left click to settings for new style, right click for old style. Ultimately not a big deal though.

My main point was really that the power options and system options have changed but you may not see it unless you clean install or use a new account. It just seems really odd to NOT change those for existing accounts but enable for new accounts. I am guessing this is an oversight not a deliberate policy.

A little something you guys inspired me to create, to make my point

All Windows' stuff in Control Panel has links to Control Panel in Settings still, but what does suck, is, that they have taken it away from Win+X, there is 3rd party software that also places stuff there, such as Adobe CS, Realtek Audio, Outlook- Mail Setup, and so on.
There are already shortcuts to Settings in File Explorer, on Start, and Action Center. How many more short cuts to Settings do we really need?

I think you are missing my point - "Power Options" and "System" has changed in 14946 i.e they now point to settings menus rather than control panel menus BUT ONLY if you clean install or create a new User.

Create a new User Account and click on either and you will see what I mean.

As many as possible if somebody asks me. It's handy to have it so you don't have to leave what you are doing at the time. Although, being old as I am. I find myself dropping down to desktop to get to it.

Ok I see now what you mean, crap I misunderstood in the other thread, they still open to system32 stuff on my upgraded VM. OK:

It just seems odd that upgrades stay with system32 but not new users or clean install. I think MS did not think through all the bases here as most Insiders upgrade on one account and would not notice the change - doesn't strike me as a great way to get Insider feedback on a change that is invisible to most Insiders - LOL!
