Updated from .222, took about 20 minutes on my modest 4Mb connection. (Downloaded about 400MB data)
    Now at version .321

Glad to have microsoft working on polishing Windows 10. But also at the same time a bit worried if they have to release fixes so oftenly even after one year of the release.

Having more updates over a period of time is Microsoft's current thinking. You might want to read the following.

this is the thirs thing at >700mb and it's really annoying me. Each time i've been fortunate to have no install issues other than a very long download, MS chokes the life out my bandwidth for some reason, never used to be like this for updates.
what do i do w/ the manual one if i try that, is it a self installer thing, just d/l and click on it?
    TIA

Overview of Windows 10 as a service

Windows 10 isn't a service, we do them a service by Beta testing this shit. Almost every update I get is a problem, then we have to go into forums like this and spend a couple of hours fixing things that someone who doesn't work for Microsoft spends a few hours on so thousands of people can fix it or try to. Can you imagine buying a car and having problems like you have with this operating system, some service that would be. The lights keep going out, I have to keep restarting the car before it will run, the window wipers keep stopping so I have to pull the fuse and plug it back in so they work again, etc. etc. etc. Wish those guys at Microsoft had the same problems with their cars that people here have with Windows 10. Windows 10 does start 2 seconds faster than Windows 7 though so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Mine downloaded and went on without a hitch but the STRANGEST THING HAPPENED. I shut the PC down after verifying the updates went on, it shut down, and then the dreaded GETTING WINDOWS READY DO NOT POWER OFF YOUR PC spinner came up. It sat like that for 20 minutes. I pulled the plug on the PC and restarted and it "went away".

The only other issue is I had this PC set up to not require login upon restart. YEP...I have to log in every time. Worse yet, it keeps restarting with my LOCAL account and not my MS Account. It's awful.

I have to figure out how to reset that.

But if you check the updates history it will say failed.

Windows Update downloaded it and then i pressed install, then it restart and stop in a screen saying Windows is updating blah, blah do not turn off. it was there for some time i finished just doing a forced shutdown, then boot again and with a "failed" update install in Windows Update history.
