Well said Cliff. And I would add, each to his own preference ... what works for you.

For example, I often have multiple files/folders open on desktop simultaneously, and that's why I don't pin stuff to the bottom task bar. It gets too cluttered and hard to locate and quickly swing between open folders.

This is a pic of my start menu. Note it has a shortcut in right panel to User folder, which includes AllApps, (when set with hidden folders showing).

Is it possible to "PIN" the "MOST USED" apps just like in XP/VISTA/7 where those certain (up to 9 I believe) programs would start on the start menu without having them constantly rotate to a different app or is that feature gone? We can only pin as a tile instead?

I use Quick Launch to pin my apps. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4...dows-10-a.html

That way, nothing is in my taskbar except the apps I'm using.

That's what the area to the right is... and you can pin as many items as you want there.

Yea, that is why I was asking, I liked having it on the left there under most used with icon + text but I assumed that I only will be able to pin my most frequent ones I use on the right now. I only have a few at small icon because small icon doesn't show text, I like how medium shows the name of the program, but thank you. That is what I was wondering.

From what I've read, Microsoft are going to make Windows 10 a subscription service. I think it's a good idea as look what Adobe did with Photoshop CC making it a subscription service - to which I subscribe too and it's much cheaper than buying the full product. I know Windows it much cheaper than Photoshop, but oh well...😄

NO... MS is not going to make Windows a subscription service.. it's a service and that's just a term .. it does not mean there will be a fee for it.

In previous Builds you could 'Pin to the Start List', but I think that option is gone perhaps for good!

I wouldn't state that as gospel Jeff. At the moment the OS is free as an upgrade and pricing has been announced for retail versions, but with W10 being the 'final Windows' it wouldn't surprise me to see additional features carry a cost in the future. You buy the base product, you pay for non-essential updates as and when you want/need them.

All speculation obviously, but just a good enough reason not to state Windows will never become any form of a subscription based format.
