I'm with Cliff on this because the "surprise inside" isn't always sweet.

    • I restart PC using Restart option in Start (yellow highlight in screenshot) instead of Update and restart (green highlight), and immediately when Windows has booted back to desktop before launching any applications I run upgrade by selecting Update and restart:
      Attachment 105571

I can't recall ever seeing that "Update and restart" option.
I always use the restart button on the Windows Update screen.

I haven't performed a clean install since the second 9xxx build (it turned out that it wasn't necessary anyway).

I would suggest you to go back to a previous version and do the update again, it could be a corrupted update, if you are not too bothered with Edge, just ignore it and use something else like Yandex ( my preference) and wait for the next update to fix Edge.
It wasn't just this update, its been the last 4-5,6, since edge was opened up to extensions.
I liked Edge before this last lot of updates, its wearing thin now though lol

Even if new build is not an Alpha, some parts and new features certainly are. I had a very early build of W8, now that was real Alpha, it even managed to make a mess of my W7 while it was on different HDD. Very few things worked at all.

The opposite of Gabe, she at least she communicates with us insiders, positive, negative, and warnings. With Gabe the Tweeter's had to pull teeth.

    Nope°!
She means if you are using a leaked build, and stuff isn't working or breaks something don't go crying to her:

But if there's a leaked build, that there's one close to be released.

Not necessarily, it just means that one of the developers or OEM employees are not so trust worthy, and illegally put a copy out on the net.
