    F-Secure + Build 14942 = BSOD

I had to stop all F-Secure services and after that I could install this build. After installation I tried to start F-Secure again, but immediately BSOD. Seems to run smoothly without F-Secure. So I'll have toi live a while without AV. Microsoft is informed.

Aha! The plot thickens . . . from what I see so far, AV apps seem to be breaking Build 14942. That said, I didn't have any AV app except Windows Defender, Build 14942 installed and seemingly worked, but when it went to sleep, it's like it died and I had to take extraordinary measures to get it going again. Then other niggling, almost unimportant things began to show up.

I've rolled back so I can't really test any more, but I think so far, my problem was the worst I've ever experienced; so bad that I was forced into the rollback.

It could be because AV and Anti Malware software needs to use rootkits to work in Windows(has to do with permissions and protection at boot). Microsoft might have changed something low level.

That's what I'm thinking too, Cliff. However, whatever they did, it may go deeper; lookit my problems. I'm not a coder, but I do know that fixing one thing can break two other things sometimes. Just one simple line of code can sometimes cause chaos.

Yep, there were so many "little" things going wrong and then there was no solution to my biggest problem. Somebody messed up big time.
