Someone suggested to me (in another thread) that maybe if it doesn't sleep very long, you can wake it up, but if it goes into a longer "deep sleep" then it won't wake up. He's testing but hasn't gotten back yet.
I can confirm this. If I put PC to sleep intentionally and wake it after 15 mins, it will resume (tested just once). After an hour or more, only switch off/on on power supply will bring it back.

Have to catch up with whole thread to make clear picture...

    I will test extended sleep

Instead of waking up when I move the mouse the system reboots
My computer has done that once since installing build 14942. It did it when I woke it after being in sleep mode for a few hours. I have used sleep since then and it's been working.

This version is back to how it was before 14936, in that it will not install and keeps restoring the previous build .
If you have Malwarebytes installed try uninstalling it. If the build installs you can reinstall Malwarebytes.

    Malwarebytes

Thank goodness for this forum and thread. I installed 14942 twice this morning and it failed after the third reboot both times at 76% "Working on Updates" . Each time it reverbed back to 14936. I ran through this string and found a number of thread discussing Malwarebytes so I removed it and re-ran Windows Update. It worked as designed. I reinstalled Malwarebytes V2.2.1.1043 Licensed Edition and as it was trying to update its database, Win10 crashed. It has been removed from this installation and I reported the issue to MS. This was the first crash and I have installed every Insider Build going back to the start of the program.

Thanks much to all that posted the problem in this thread.

You're lucky, Winuser. I went out to lunch and when we got back, mine had gone to sleep. Had to repeat the drill to get things going again.

I'm going to go to HP to see if there are any firmware/BIOS updates. Then I think I may do a clean install, but since Microsoft is monitoring my machine, I may wait on the clean install.

I don’t think it’s the power settings and it’s not a re-boot, more like recovering from a crashed system
Because I get a message on IE and Firefox “You’re last browsing session closed unexpectedly”
And the system takes an extra long time to boot up
When my computer restarted I got a Feedback box asking if I did a restart because of a problem. I answered yes and that my computer restarted on it's own when I woke it from sleep mode.

Just as a FYI, someone else had a crash while installing the paid version of MBAM; however, when he installed the free version, but didn't activate it, no crash. Go figures.

My Insider build is running on a HP Envy 700-074. According to the HP Support software I'm up to date. If updates are available for your computer that may solve your problem. Another thought, Have you checked Device Manager to see if you have any driver problems?

Just a hunch, but it's probably the active rootkit protection module on the paid version.
