Excel: Feature updates
This channel release contains the following feature updates:
- Data Transformation and Connectivity enhancements: Add parameters to queries, create new queries from Merge or Append operations, and use the Web connector to preview web pages.
- Macro recording for charts: Support for Treemap, Histogram, Pareto, Waterfall, and Box & Whisker charts.
Excel: Non-security updates
This channel release contains the following non-security updates:
- Fix an issue where conditional formatting rules don’t work after opening a file that’s been saved in the .xls format.
- Fix an issue with the 64-bit version of Excel where the user gets an error, instead of a password prompt, when trying to connect to Access queries that reference linked ODBC tables that require a password prompt for authentication to the back-end server.
- Fix an issue where Excel crashes when choosing an item from a drop-down list.
OneNote: Non-security updates
This channel release contains the following non-security updates:
- Fix an issue where only the first tag of multiple tags for a text line is shown in the Tags Summary panel when searching for tags.

- Fix an issue where, when using customized stationery as the default theme, extra line breaks are added to new email messages and the font is set to Calibri.
- Fix an issue where Outlook freezes when opening if the Windows display is set to 125%.
- Fix an issue where Excel cells pasted as on OLE link disappear from draft email messages.
PowerPoint: Feature updates
This channel release contains the following feature updates:
- Ink replay: Replay handwriting forward and backward to hide and reveal content, provide step-by-step instructions, or better understand the flow of others’ thoughts.
- Better recordings: Create a presentation made up of recorded slides, screen recordings and inserted video, and then share that recorded content to be viewed remotely on Docs.com. You can also embed quizzes to assist with remote learning and make your presentation more interactive as well as change the ink color and use simpler controls to record narrations and audio.
- Designer improvements: Provides design suggestions using SmartArt for bulleted process lists.
- Recording ribbon tab: Add a Recording tab by customizing the ribbon.

- Fix an issue where automatically hyperlinking a screenshot to the URL of the captured browser window doesn’t work.
Skype for Business: Non-security updates
This channel release contains the following non-security updates:
- Fix an issue where, when using the keyboard to view the list of participants in an IM conversion, the keyboard focus incorrectly moves to chat history instead of showing the list of participants.
- Fix an issue where the tooltips on the Participant Actions screen disappear when using a high contrast Windows theme.
- Fix an issue where the location of phone numbers isn't shown in meeting invites.
- Fix an issue with the mouse pointer in remote control scenarios with high DPI.
- Fix an issue where a participant can't see the shared desktop when other participants switch which shared desktop is being displayed.
- Fix an issue where sign in fails with a certificate issue.
- Fix an issue where the Whiteboard View doesn't load at the top of screen when switching from Gallery View to Content View and back to Gallery View.
- Fix an issue with sign in failures during Exchange authentication.
- Fix an issue where, when the sharer is using a 3rd party implementation of RDP and the sharer's resolution is lower than the viewer's resolution, Skype for Business crashes if the viewer maximizes the Skype window.
- Fix an issue where the Content button doesn't work on the Front of Room display.
- Fix an issuer where rejoining a meeting fails on computers configured for internal proxy pac file URLs in Internet Explorer as an automatic configuration script.
- Fix an issue where, when using keyboard shortcuts to mute or turn off a video, screen readers, such as Narrator, don't announce the changes.
- Fix an issue where the Edit Location dialog box didn't have labels that screen readers, such as Narrator, could use.
- Fix an issue where screen readers, such as Narrator, don't correctly handle the alert notifications that appear just under the ribbon.

- Version and build information: Version and build information is shown in the Version YYMM (Build ####.####) format in the Office Updates section when you go to File > Account. For example, for this release, Version 1609 (Build 7369.2024).
Office suite: Non-security updates
This channel release contains the following non-security updates:
- Fix an issue where the installation user interface (UI) doesn’t appear when performing an Online Repair.
- Fix an issue where the “Search for online templates” box is still enabled even after access to online templates has been disabled by a Group Policy setting or a registry setting.
