It also bypasses 'Fast Startup', which is sometimes desirable.

I turn fast startup off anyway. I disable hibernation from the command prompt. I have SSD's in my PC's so it's not really needed, and just causes issues anyway.

I have SSD's too, but I leave it on, and have no problems, but amazing boot times(I always shutdown when not in use).

    Here are my problems:

    1. I had that error too when I clicked the Start button>Power>Shut down. I don't know why it is, but when I right clicked on the Start button>Shut down or sign out>Shut down, the error didn't pop up. The next time I clicked the Start button>Power>Shut down, there was no error, and hasn't been one since.

    2. I have IDT HD Audio CODEC and by changing from 24 bit to 16 bit, I now have sound. You're right . . . it's unacceptable.

    3. I have Office 365 ProPlus and don't have any problems with Windows 10 remembering that Outlook is my default email client.

    4. I don't have a recurring reminder to restart the machine after updates.
I just tried setting my sound back to 24 bit and it works.

    Yay! I'll try that!

    Edit: It worked! Thanks, Winuser!

You're welcome. I'm not sure when they fixed it. I almost forgot about making the change to get sound working.

Anyone signing in to Windows with either a domain account or an Azure AD account? If so could you test if this is just me or a bug:

Create an additional Windows sign-in account with an MS account. Sign in to this new user account once, sign out, go back to your admin domain or Azure AD account and remove the MS Account user.

Did you also lose everything set up in Start in doing this:

Happens to me. If I remove an MS account user from Windows, the main user with Azure AD account loses everything in Start. The same happens if the main user is a domain account. Of course the apps are still shown in All Apps so I can set up everything again, I am just wondering if this is something on my PC / setup or if this is a bug worth reporting.

    Maybe a reboot is needed?

    @ Kari

Apps would be owned on any device with any MS-type account. Perhaps settings for different MS associated accounts are saved for that particular account? In other words, you have your main MS account that records the Store apps and any account associated with it saves the settings.

    badrobot, reboot does not help.

As soon as I remove an MS Account from the PC, remaining domain and / or Azure Active Directory accounts will lose absolutely everything from the Start.

Everything can be set back by going to All Apps and pinning items back to Start.

Hippsie, that would explain something but not everything :).

THis is not a big deal, I mean how often do you remove user profiles? Easy to set everything back, it's just strange behavior.
