The creators of 'QT Tab Bar', who had put the project on hiatus for a time, have resurrected it due to the many requests for tabbed Explorer in Windows 10.
Their new beta version works quite well in W10 and has lots of features including preview flyouts for folders; so, forget the Navigation Pane, the Preview Pane and the Details Pane and get your full window showing.

    Attachment 37903

    Attachment 37904

    Attachment 37905

If you want to try it out, get the Beta version, 1.5.0.0 Beta 2, here:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/qttabbar/

Just to add to Edwin's post, the original developer of QTTab bar (Quizo Apps) has been back working on it for quite some time now with the latest version 1029 built on 25/8/2015.

The one that's available on Source Forge is a fork that someone developed back when the original dev Quizo stopped developing QTTab bar but the fork version was last updated in 2013.

I'd highly recommend using Quizo's version as it's up to date and has a lot more features and works perfectly in Windows 10, so grab it from his site:

Ha! I only know because I have been a user for many years, I started with the Quizo version, then the fork and now back to Quizo

just fix this onedrive nonsense and i'll be happy. progressively, on more and more computers when i open a file, or copy a file, i get this damn issue of the file not syncing to the cloud. about to try other cloud options after much failed troubleshooting

if mickysour hasn't incorporated tabs into windows explorer by now they're not going to. it's ashame really cause it would use less resources than using a 3rd party app to do it. on a side not now that 10 has been out awhile has anyone run across app for tabs that actually works in 10? not a explorer replacement or a stand-alone explorer type app.

Yes It would be real nice instead of having to open a separate explorer to compare or move files just open a new tab. No it is not a deal breaker for me either. Or M$ is planning to strip out Explorer and put in an APP all APPs that I have seen have not been as rich as the desktop Applications they have replaced.
I still prefer snapping 2 File explorers and drag and drop one session to the other. Can't see TABs helping drag and drop unless you could have 2 tabs active. Other wise you would have to make sure you tab is active then right clock and click the file to be copied then avtivated the second tab and right click and paste.

actually with clover no problem with dragging to copy or move to another tab on that explorer window. no problem in having multiple explorer windows open each with their own set of tabs. clover is the one i love out of all the ones i tested under 8/8.1. it just now needs to be made to work with 10.

Been a long time user of xplorer2 lite and really don't use the tabs as the dual pane layout for drag and dropping suits me.

But I have switched to Q-Dir now as xplorer2 was not keeping up with win 10 unless you paid for their 64 bit version.

I vote for dual panes (Q-Dir can got to four) over tabs.
