Seems that update KB3189866 may have been withdrawn, the catalog.update. ... site does not have it now. Stalled at 45 - 48 % on 2 systems here.

Good! I was going to suggest that earlier as far as trying the repair tool for the WU in the event you were seeing that type of problem but noticed the WU was stalling at 59% on the remote pc here. The updates did finish up on their own however by simply letting the WU finish the download and then finally saw the prompting for the restart which had to be manually seen to not having the scheduled off active hours type restart in effect.

Following the Recovery back to the RS1 from 14901 Insider build the WU seems to be a little sluggish there at times. Of course the second remote pc not being the main as well as the VMs presently being run have other purposes.

I'm done with the anniversary update, still getting random freezes here that have bot been fixed by any of the windows updates. Nothing wrong with my PC as it was custom built in April this year & I have stress tested & benchmarked the hell out of it. The freezes are random, was watching a youtube video while waiting on GOG Galaxy to download Witcher 3 GOTY, as soon as I clicked on Galaxy in the taskbar to see how far the install was doing the mouse froze, whole system just locked but the sound in the youtube video still played. Tried Ctrl-Alt-Del but nothing happened until about 1 minute later when the system then shows the ctrl-alt-del screen.

Since you can't find fault with the hardwares then it is time to start looking at the softwares! On each desktop and laptop alike not one problem has come up with the RS1 one bit. Otherwise I would have been hearing about it! I suspect most problems will prove to be software orientated as has been seen plenty of times in the past due to the type of software environment you have going which can also be effected by driver issues as well while mainly one or more troublesome apps getting in the way. Software bugs have always been the more notorious culprits to isolate and remove at times.
