@ NavyLCDR In the old MCT, there was no obvious Education option listed in the drop down menu. Being spoiled by having a free MSDN subscription, I just go there for my ISO's. The down side is I don't know all the ins and outs of the MCT.

Can you clean install education with that ISO though? And just so there is no confusion, could you post the link you used to do that download. That way I can get that same ISO to test it myself.

I haven't tried a clean install of Education edition with it. I can try after work today. I used the standard Media Creation Tool from here:
    Windows 10

I used the standard option for just plain "Windows 10" in the drop down list, English US, both 32-bit and 64-bit because I have a couple of 32-bit installations as well as 64-bit.

Got the update on my own system, but laptop of my mother doesn't give it yet. Is there a difference between Home and Pro with releases?

OK thanks, downloading now. I was going here, https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10 Same thing only en-CA. I haven't downloaded from there in a while though.
This link was posted in a thread recently https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft.../windows10ISO/ There it states "Windows 10 editions below are valid for both Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro."

@NavyLCDR When my desktop pc wouldn't upgrade via Windows update I tried the upgrade now option from the en-CA link and it gave back an unsupported version error message. Not the exact wording something like that. After that I ran setup.exe from my MSDN Education ISO and did the upgrade. On MSDN its multi edition Home and Pro ISO , an Education ISO and an Enterprise ISO.

That is strange. "On MSDN its multi edition Home and Pro, Education, and Enterprise." Never heard of or seen a multi edition like this. I looked on MSDN and the only multi edition I could find has Home and Pro. What is the ISO number for this ISO that has Home and Pro, Education and Enterprise? Here is an example of the ISO number from the file name on MSDN under details:
en_windows_10_multiple_editions_version_1607_updated_jul_2016_x64_dvd_9058187.iso this only has Home and Pro.

Now from MCT I have downloaded an ISO that has Home, Pro, Education and Home Single Language on a single ISO and it is called a combined ISO. I have never seen a combined ISO from MSDN.

Edit: I reread your post and maybe you are saying Home and Pro on one ISO, Education by itself on another ISO, and Enterprise by itself on another ISO not all on a single ISO. Is that what you are saying?

Yes, I just fixed it so its clear what I originally meant to say. I didn't word that very well. On MSDN Education is a separate ISO all by itself, like Enterprise is.

Everything is working super on my laptop..the reason why it kept on reinstalling itself(From the thumb drive) was because as I was told by Microsoft, you have to take out the thumb drive after the installation is complete otherwise when the computer reboots it will just install it again so everything is great and the laptop is working good..activated and everything thank U all so much for all of your help!! Hopefully I will continue to get updates in the future

My download includes the Home, Pro, and Education editions.
That's a bit odd to be hearing yet MS has been throwing in twists at times and this is no longer the freebie 10 being downloaded unless simply updating existing 10 installs. The Redstone 1 just like the Threshold 2 update is a general combination iso to cover everyone however.

Just run the Setup which checked my PC and found no problems. It then downloaded and run the setup but has stopped at this screen.

    Attachment 94897

I have no idea what program is causing the problem and I assume the text and/or icon should be a hyperlink - they aren't. There seems no way out other than closing down the dialog. Clicking "Refresh" just shows the same dialog again. How do I find out what program it's complaining about?

BTW I'm running a recent install from scratch and all programs have been installed since the install. None are exhibiting any problems.

[Edit] Just exited the dialog and received the message "You can contact Microsoft support for help with error code 0xc1900209"

    Cheers,

I trust you saw that with the immediate online upgrade attempt using the MC Tool's first option? I ran into the same on a 7 to 10 upgraded desktop being updated where even a 10 preinstalled laptop still needed to see the iso mounted to run the setup.exe file by right click to run as admin. That took each desktop as well as the laptop right through the upgrade process without hesitation.

With the iso downloads themselves having seen both 32 and 64bit downloads from the MS download iso page as well as the 4 in 1 by way of the MC Tool I still had to manually extract the files and folders onto the previously made up usb keys since the MC Tool failed to see the new media created. Another mystery but explained by 10 being three versions newer is why the 3rd party UltraISO app also failed to see the 10 iso files written to flash drive while the Insider and TH2 downloads saw no problems at all.

I just downloaded an ISO from MSDN, and put it on a flash drive. You can't get the Education version via the MCT as far as I know. One upgraded on its own via windows update. Another I upgraded manually. They've had clean installs done on them since then for testing purposes anyway. My wife's laptop is the only PC that, as far as I know, hasn't upgraded. I'd have to go have a look see next time she has it on.
You will likely need to manually see the laptop updated by mounting the iso to run the setup manually. The January bought 10 laptop here required it. The main, secondary remote desktop plus another for a family member all three saw that need as well. When mounting the RS1 iso by the Virtual Clonedrive app and performing each upgrade install not one problem came up or has been seen since.

If it was going to come in by the WU it would have already been installed and you would simply check the Start>Settings>System>About information to verify it.
