    two things for me:
ever since the first update to 10074, I have lost search/Cortana functions, and, each time I shut down then close the lid, when I open the lid, it starts immediately - kinda creepy....
Check your power option if power button is set to shut down or sleep.

Control Panel>Power Options>Choose what the power buttons do.

I checked and there were no settings at all, so I put them to - power button = shutdown and close the lid = hibernate.

Still, when I go Start/Shutdown, the laptop appears to shutdown all the way (and it says it is shutting down). Then, if I close the lid and open it back up, the thing starts up without me doing anything.

Have you gone into the advanced settings and "Change settings currently not available" and then set your power options.

Here's what my settings look like:

I have not changed anything - this is how the OS installed.

When I shut down, I wait until the laptop is completely off, and then I close the lid. How would the computer know the lid was shut if it was COMPLETELY shutdown?

In case anyone is interested - here was the problem - FAST STARTUP was enabled.

Darn it!!! I always forget about fast startup(and fast boot for that matter) because I've had to reset it up only once. Truly set and forget. Thanks for posting you find:).

Is this build going to become official anytime soon, or is Microsoft going to skip it over for a better one?
