My Edge stopped working yesterday too! I tried everything to get it working again and finally went to a system image from last Saturday, before this week's updates. Everything went back to normal and it then downloaded the updates again last night. So far everything is still working. Fingers crossed. :)

Yep mine skipped a beat too. Windows 10 is certainly an unpredictable beast. I do have an image from a couple months back but don't really want to be messing with that. Not enough spare time to deal with things it throws up & restoring the work done since. Oh well, maybe it's just a temporary glitch in the matrix. This evening I'll switch it on and allow the PC some idle time to see if it crops up again, if it doesn't happen again I'll just try and put it to the back of mind. At least until Aug 2 and anniversary update day when I will hold my breath and cross every finger in the hope it goes in without drama.

i miss the days of the early computers such as my Commodore 64 and Amiga. Much simpler back then, no updates to worry about, no unpredictable behaviour!!!
well I left machine idle a couple times tonight for about 25 mins each time and no return of the issue so think I got lucky. Although will check again after 24 hours have passed in case whatever happened triggers daily

I had no issues downloading nor installing the update. But after successfully installing the update my explorer.exe refuses to start. My OS language is Norwegian Win 10 Pro 64-bit. Latest updates installed before this weeks cumulative update. When trying to load explorer.exe the process shows up briefly, but nothing else happens, so I get no desktop. This also happens in safe mode. I have uninstalled the update, and everything was working fine again. Then I tried installing the update again from Windows Update, and the same thing happens again.

seems more issues than usual after this update. Nice QA testing there Microsoft. This is what is frustrating about the relentless pace of updates, systems that otherwise seem to be functioning well are at the mercy of them. In this respect Windows 10 is pretty unpredictable.

I think there is a tool where you can hide the update that you can downloaded. Maybe worth hiding it as I guess the update will try and download again otherwise. Hopefully the anniversary update in just under 3 weeks will bring better outcome. I don't think your missing anything by not having this update, I can't see that it brings anything to the table (that I can detect) other than grief

Overall, IMHO, the issue with the new wave of Windows, is the lack of proper exception/error handling.. I mean stuff like the old "Something happened"... or even an error code with a sublime "please ask MS support for help" message (like they know anything) ...and that has been since Windows 8! ....and Event log is a just a maze now with non-descriptive entries...

I think you can hide the update from Windows Update like in pre-win10 versions. I am considering doing an in place upgrade using the GetWindows10-sds file. Maybe it will fix it?
