Updated OK and yes it was a little slow downloading but having successfully installed and rebooted I did as I always do and ran a full disk clean. The cleanup was very slow taking around 30 minutes over the 'cleaning windows updates packages' bit but it did free up over 1.2Gb this time. Usually it only takes a minute or so to run.

Well I was updating my 6th computer (Hannspree SN12E Laptop) and KB3172985 will NOT install...It gets to a certain point then says it cannot update and then rolls back...I did this twice using the online update and it failed twice...
I then downloaded the 32bit standalone package for KB3172985 and it installed and rebooted several times trying to install the updates and it failed as well and rolled back...So this laptop cannot install this update as it is now...This laptop
has been running Windows 10 Home 32bit for a year now...Currently on version 10586.420.
Same here but with a desktop pc which was 10586.318

This is the second month (june and juli) I can't install the cumulative update. I don't know what's wrong.
The pc restarts and windows says the update failed...

I reset the Windows Update via a script... Rebooted, download again via windows update. Fails....

I reset again. Download the update manually via Microsoft Update Catalog
It installs, I have to restart the pc, I don't see a percentage from the progress. It restarts but it fails.

    I ran sfc/ scannow --> no errors

I'm afraid I can't install the big anniversary update in august when the cum. updates from the last two months fail.

    Any ideas? System restore point?

Right on the heels of Elpusher...I've FIXED my HANNSPREE SN12E which would not do the update...
I did it differently...I ran the GetWindows10-sds_____________.exe file which initiates a Windows 10
update download....It took several hours but successfully completed and laid Windows 10
over my current setup...The only thing I had to do was put the license back in Kaspersky...
AND...Much to my surprise...When it was done I did a WINVER and it was already
at 10586.494...I did not have to run the update...It was already installed with the
downloaded Windows 10 that had been installed....I ran update again and it updated
three more things including the previous cumulative update but that finished immediately
as the .494 download appeared have updated everything already...
I am running Windows 10 HOME 32bit on this Laptop...
I have uploaded the GetWindows10-sds_____________.exe file to my ftp server for anyone who needs it
    at the following
    http://web.newsguy.com/confused/GetW...__________.exe
This file is how I initiated the upgrade last year on all nine of my computers.
This works on 32bit Windows 10...I do not know if this works on 64bit Win10.
So all nine of my computers are now 10586.494...

Interested in the comments re slow downloads. These '494' updates weren't too slow but, wow, it took over 9 hrs to upgrade a win 7 to win 10. It started about 8pm last night and was still at 99% at 4am! Looked again at 6am and it was done.

We can but hope the server feeds are up to it come 2 Aug!!
