Yep. I mentioned having keys for Windows 7 left over and got inundated with requests for one of 'em. But I signed an agreement not to pirate, and that's that! :)

Definitely doing a nice clean install as well, hopefully this time directly to 10 Pro, instead of Home, then upgrading to Pro, Remote Desktop won't let me add user, so I can use the standard account at times to lol, (Microsoft account) read on MS Answers forum, needed Reset install to fix that, something about upgrading from Home to Pro likely cause. So guess will hopefully pray it gets Pro Directly this time lol.

    Security Wise this time around

    Windows Defender
    Malwarebytes Free
    cc cleaner

hopefully it runs well, and i'll be happy with that setup, and finally stay away from my former most used Security program Avast

I believe you will only get the same as you had. No bump Home ---> Pro.

What was the original upgrade from? Does that PC have a Windows 8/8.1 OEM embedded key? I ask because my laptop has a Windows 8.0 Core OEM key. With the current install media I get Windows 10 Home with no choice in the matter. I then have to do a change key and upgrade to Pro. I originally did the free upgrade from 8.1 Pro to 10 Pro. I'm hoping this won't happen anymore with the anniversary edition. Time will tell though. To override the auto selection and install Pro I add a PID.txt file to my sources folder of my install media. It has the generic -3V66T Pro key in it.

On a clean install if that PC does not have an OEM embedded key, you should get prompted for a key. Just click skip and select Pro. If you do an in place upgrade from Pro you'll get Pro.

If you did your upgrade from Home to Pro via change product code, there shouldn't be any side effects. It just unlocks the Pro features, as far as I know anyway. All the required files are already there for the upgrade, no install media required. I use remote desktop to log into my Raspberry Pi with a standard logon. I'm logged into my PC with my Microsoft ID but log into my Pi with different credentials.

I thought the clean install tool they are working on was suppose to come out with the anniversary edition, did that get pushed back?

Some can't wait. Or want to clean install instead of doing the upgrade. The MCT will get updated soon after the Anniversary edition is officially released. Maybe even same day.

I used to always do clean installs but there is not much point in spending days to do a clean install if the upgrades come faster than the time it takes you to do the clean install. Anyways everything I need in my machine upgraded fine. I think I will stop doing clean installs to when I have too much unwanted junk on my system.

I'm pinning my hopes on Windows Update method of delivery and that it all goes ok. I cannot stomach thought of a clean install and then having to spend days putting everything back on. Not particulary looking forward to Tuesday though, such major updates always bring an element of risk.
