Why do I get the feeling that so many people running Windows 10 TP, don't really understand what Beta Testing is all about?
It is not now and never was supposed to be anyone's MAIN OS.
I remember on the old Windows 8 forum, where I was a moderator, daily we had to remind people coming on the forum that Windows 8 Beta, was NOT a free new OS, but a Beta Release for testing purposes only.
At the time, even Microsoft on their download page, would tell people to NOT install the Beta versions over their main OS on their computers. And every day someone would come on the forum wanting to know how to get their Windows 7, Vista or XP back.
There was NO return path!
Every time I get a new Build of Windows 10 TP, I back up the version I'm currently running on my TEST PC, and then install the new build, letting the installer re-Format the C: partition where the new build will install.
This totally prevents any Blending of the new Build with a previous build.
I try to run every build as if it were coming to me on a brand new store-bought computer. To do otherwise, defeats the whole purpose of Beta Testing.
I don't know, what some folks purpose is in even being involved in the Beta Testing process, because they certainly don't have the technical expertise to do it effectively. By the time that the current Builds expire, we should all be 'over it', and either running the full release of Windows 10, or back to our OS of choice.
It may be several years, before I will be running Windows 10 as my everyday OS, but in the mean time, I'm quite happy with XP, Win-7 and Win-8.1. With 8.1 being the best performer on many PC's.
Sorry, I didn't find the magazine article to be in any way offensive. Maybe WE don't need to even read it, but there are thousands of maybe millions of others who do.
Y'all have a great day now, Y'hear?
