Can you name a few apps which people use daily that are unavailable for Windows Phone?
In the UK - Virgin Trains / Trainline - lot of UK train operators with Mobile (M) tickets - Eurostar as well.
    Barclays Bank Home banking
    Live Football on TV
    Sky Go
    Stock Quote
Chromecast (might be OK now - but didn't work on Windows phone recently) - Phone controls on remote TV. Phone acts as the handset.
    Times newspapers
    Evening Standard
    Paris Metro
Bose sound touch (that might possibly run on Windows phone - but never used to)
Squeezebox (Logitech) media server (connects to your remote server)
Plex (controls PLEX on remote TV
OR code reader (think Windows phone has a different Bar code reader)

    TV guide (Be, Is, nl)

Etc etc. Could go on a lot more.

Note you can get to the main (desktop) website of course but the mobile apps are much better and geared to mobile phone usage.

    Cheers

Well, I for one think that the iPhone is still the best phone around, hands down. It just does it. I don't own one, but my roomie's do. And I rely on them to always have it with them. Pretty much can do anything with it. We can print to our Windows connected printers, do virtually anything with them, connect to our PCs via teamviewer (why do I need a desktop on my phone anyway?).

I just can't see paying good money for a phone, that is not supported by business and limited apps. Why would anyone do it, except for a few enthusiast's.

I guess, I am just not much appreciative with anything this 'new' Microsoft has brought to the table.

To me they are pretty much like knock-off artists, just trying to duplicate what has already been done by everyone else, and then try to sell it as cutting edge technology. Even their Surface tablets are made by Pegatron, the same people who build the iPads. go figure.

iPhone could be greatest thing since sliced bread but to pay so much for a bloody phone is ridiculous. I'd rather get robbed !!!

Well I can only compare it to the Android phones I had before my iPhone 6, my first and only iPhone thus far. Personally I love it. Audio is great. Half my relatives have iPhones and when you talk iPhone to iPhone the clarity is amazing. Otherwise I've found it decent, far better than may Samsung I had before it. Also, it knows it's a phone. If the phone rings nothing else happens. My wife has a Samsung, if the phone rings and you grab it wrong it will suddenly jump away from the phone screen, that should never happen.
As for the Windows phone. Unfortunately, Verizon doesn't support the newest Lumina's at the moment, which sucks. When they do, or Microsoft clarifies its long term vision and rolls out some hardware supported by all the major carriers, I may consider switching to Windows Phone as everyone I know loves their phone. Considering the price difference, it's worth a try. Otherwise, for the phone Apple will probably have my business, but only on my phone.

I would have no problem with iPhone (I actually have iPhone 5 in my drawer - but the display is too small now when I have met Lumia 640), but the price is now out of reach. Kids and life in general do change things... As for Android, I don't have time for fiddling/allways charging/etc. anymore. My first experience with Android was also the last one. For nearest years, at least.

Well most are tied to some phone carrier package and cost very little to obtain. I think they actually paid full price for only one (because they dropped the original in the lake, while boating & drinking - dumb asses).
