I've gotten Hyper-V working well on my Windows 10 parition (with Windows Server 2016 Essentials and openSUSE Tumbleweed as my new VMs for now). I use VMware WS 12.1.1 on Linux now and am fixing to copy over VirtualBox and VMware VMs to Windows and using Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter Solution Accelerator and qemu.img for Windows to convert vdi and vdmk virtual disks to vhdx disk format. I've installed docker.exe and dockerd.exe per the instructive links on this thread but haven't yet got the nano server container to work. I've printed out the --help files for these programs and see I have quite a bit of studying to do as well as Google searches(actually I use DuckDuckGo). Also need to see about using Docker on my favorite Linux distro for now - openSUSE Leap 42.2 Alpha 1.

As we used to say in high school eons ago - fun for the feeble

Like the new AV security option being built into the upcoming anniversary update, which allows Defender to run periodic scanning in conjunction with other installed AV protection, beside an offline scanning option.

Is the fast ring stable enough for daily use?

Depends mostly on your computer and right drivers, also of how clean your system is. I have been using insider fast update since 10240 as daily driver on main computer without any clean installation and minimal problems. There are even some bug fixes that didn't make their way into normal version yet.

All my heavy duty computers are running Insider Build 14361 without a single issue. I do no longer have a computer running anything else than latest Insider build. I have run latest Insider builds as my only OS on all my computers since December 2014, always upgrading all computers within days a new build have been released.

Let me add my 2 cents...

It depends of the state of development of current branch. In this time, when Windows anniversary is almost RTMed, Insider builds are very stable (at least for me). Nothing to complain here :)

But after July, when this will become current build for stable release, Insiders will start becoming new builds of the next update and in the beginning, builds will be unstable... And so on.

That does not change the fact that the possible bugs present in various Insider builds have been and are so minor ones they do in no way prevent using latest Insider build as main OS. A volume symbol showing muted when audio is not muted, Hyper-V external switch showing no connection when it is in fact connected and so on, these minor flaws have no effect in Windows functionality.

You are presenting bugs in latter builds, but if my memory still serves me, there were some more serious bugs in December and January. Of course I don't recall them all now any more and perhaps it wasn't really death or alive situations, but it was more serious than these.

Of course, there is always "slow ring", which is stable enough. :)

Edit: my memory isn't the same as it was.. so I have to check one old Insider thread, and there was one comment from Kari:

Missing language packages makes this a no go for me. Have to wait for the next build.
