Windows 10 build 10051 changelog posted, one minor update

    Posted: 03 Apr 2015

Earlier this week, Microsoft released Windows 10 build 10049, so hearing that the change log for build 10051 has been posted, your expectations for large changes should be quite low. And that's exactly the case here, as there is only one design change in build 10051.

In this build, which was sent out to Microsoft partners, the only updated item from 10049, from a design perspective, is that the file picker that was used in apps in Windows 8.1 has been dropped in favor of the more traditional file dialog box. This is a small change but once again shows how Microsoft is moving towards a common UI across the entire OS instead of having two distinct operating areas like Windows 8 offered.

ah I was going to say that we don't really want another small build so soon after 10049 (granted it had Spartan in it).

I really want this update as the mentioned change is a very smart move and they needed to do it. I couldn't stand the different metro file picker dialogue selector thing, it was terrible! And yes, inconsistent...

    I'll settle for almost anything.

As I've said before, I only do Clean Installs, on several different PC's, of various ages, with different brands of motherboards and CPU's..... so I can get a good idea what kind of PC's will run Windows 10 and which ones won't.

My newest laptop is a little HP, about five years old. It's run everything I've thrown at it, till 10049. That installed and ran OK for many hours, till I shut down the PC. Then on boot up I get past the login screen and then the monitor goes all white and nothing I can do makes any difference.
So this afternoon I restored that little PC back to 10041 and all's well again. WTF is going on here! (rhetorical question, not requiring an answer)
The same ISO loaded onto a much older Dell laptop and it's running great!

So, I am hoping that the next update works better, on my little HP laptop anyway.

    Cheers mates!
