I have a bunch listed as "Will not work on this device". That is one thing that really pisses me off. Try an App but don't like it, good luck ever getting ride of it. My "My Library" is basically useless now. Its a pain just finding the apps I do use.
Getting back on track. On the plus side. If your quick enough, all the Promoted Apps just need to unpinned, not uninstalled. Wait too long to do it, and they hydrate, and your going to be uninstalling them. If the ones switching from Static to Promoted are ones I was uninstalling anyway, even better. It will be a faster pruning of junk.
On one of my systems, the STORE won't even open. The code for these windows apps is so delicate, the slightest thing makes them not work. I've tried off and on for a couple of days to get my STORE working (doing all the reinstall Powershell stuff, creating a new profile, all that). Nothing works. You'd think a company as big as Microsoft would devise a DEAD SIMPLE means of selling you something. I don't think there are two or three people on Earth who understand how those universal apps really work with all the funny hex named folders and registry keys and ties into mysterious .NET stuff. I'm not going to re-install Windows just to get my STORE back. Good riddance, I guess.
People told me I didn't know what I was talking about when I posted (on EightForums) that the point of Live Tiles was to show ads.
