    I have just finished installing 14393 and I have found a new Windows task called Subscription. That fits the news.

    Your link is for Enterprise edition.

    Why post a link to a site where you have to pay for a Free copy of an Open source OS ?

    That's for if you want it already burned to a disk, your paying for the physical install media. If you happen to be in a situation where you can't create your own. Say, your only PC has no OS on it, thus you have no way to download it. Not a very likely scenario but possible.

    As mentioned, your link refers to the Enterprise edition. The only licensing option for Enterprise is Volume Licensing (subscription). Also, Pro can be upgraded to Enterprise with a simple change key. No install media needed. All the enterprise features are there, just not enabled. Your activation switches to VL when you do the upgrade.

    @COMPUTIAC
    Bob,, you need to read more than one post and jump down my neck about something next time.

    My post was intended to show how someone could get a copy of Linux without having internet access for a new build.

    This should have been mentioned in the post then as an alternative to the free download.
    Its always better to point out a choice between both.

    How do you get to the link to get the pre-burned DVD if you don't have internet access? Just curious.

    The library. You can order an entire PC and not have to have access to the internet at home.

    Or if you have bandwidth limitations, like some here, it might be better to order the DVD's than download them.

    It would be best if you followed the flow of the discussion next time. The subject came up via one member saying that you need to have/purchase a copy of Windows first to get a copy of Linux and my post was to show that you can get a copy pre burned onto a DVD for a small fee.. just like you can purchase a copy of Windows on a DVD/USB flash drive.

    I was following the conversation and knew exactly what you meant.

    One option is to order it on your smart phone.
