Is there a reason you have a computer, oh yeah, Solitaire and Mahjong. Look just because you don't have a need for these apps doesn't make them any less useful to other people, and by the way there are loads of useful games and apps.
I just get sick of people saying they have no need for the store as if it's some kind of 3 headed monster. I have 4 TVs a highly expensive sound system a HTC M8 and yet somehow I still find these apps useful for quickly looking stuff up.
My opinion is that the Store is a great way of getting apps without having to go out and buy a programme or get ripped off going out onto the Wildworld Webb of thieves and get all kinds of nasty malware etc.
That's good for you Billy Bob but I can only watch one TV at a time, I do have one in my Lamborghini though. People have a right not to like something.

They certainly do, it's just that the Store has become a catch cry like Vista and ME or earlier, Windows. You know, I will never use Windows or Vista or ME. Remember the shutdown button in Windows 8 or the one click to get on the desktop.

So you never plan on using MS Office newer than Office 2013? Or much of (if not most) future software?
Actually, I have Office 365, which is a subscription and has nothing to do with the Metro/Modern/Universal apps. Each time an update is available, it's my understanding that Office 365 will be updated in the background. There's a public Preview of Office 365 2016 for business, but since I'm not a business subscriber, I can't test.

I understand there is a beta of some sort on Office 2016 for the desktop, which I don't need, since I have the subscription.

I didn't realize that, but I'm glad I made the comment, even if incorrect. It spurred a lot of healthy discussion.

What makes you think you can't hook a phone up to a 30" screen, or even more than one? You can do that today. The point you keep losing track of is the fact that the size of the device has nothing to do with its function. There's no reason I can't take a phone sized device and plug it into a monitor and keyboard and use it as a desktop, then unplug it and take it with me and use it as a phone. This is what the future holds, not single-purpose devices that are used for only one thing.
I'm sure you can do all those things, I just don't know why. There are lots of other things you can do. People are talking about connecting their fridges to the internet. But I don't need any of that. All I'm saying, I should not be forced to do what I don't want, regardless of what you can or like to do.

In the Store Beta, Utube, Video client for Utube.
What an absolute Goldmine for music and videos covering all subjects, going back as far as the sixties and even covering continental recordings including whole LP,s.
As an example In Search just type "Mary" and all Christian names beginning with Mary records and LP,s will appear from the oldest to the latest, ie- Mary Hopkins up to Mary J Blige
It also saves all your viewings so you can find them instantly in its own folder. My Score 10/10

If you're using Office you are doing things way above my pay grade, but I'm trying................
I just downloaded a free ebook on SQL (whatever that is?) I have several hundred more that I D\L the same way.
    But, there's trick to it!
You need a way to read the ebooks, which are Kindle ebooks, from Amazon.
If interested, you need an eReader and I have Kindle for PC, free from Amazon and you'll also need an Amazon account, also free.
If you poke around Amazon you'll find a lot of free books but I have a source, a free newsletter, that allows you to be a little more selective. After a little experience with the newsletters, I've narrowed it down to just subscribing to the How-To list which is published daily. Kindle, Evernote, SQL, and Crock-Pot dump cake are just some of the subjects
Free Kindle How To Books<kindle@freebookssearch.com>; should get you there and other choices are available.
Erotica seems to be a popular genre but I don't recommend it for little girls
    Take a look!
