Virtualization concepts literature is HUGE (apologies to Trump). Many people don't realize that IBM had a virtualized server OS in the '60 called -- the VM operating system - which ran on its mainframes. PC virtualiztion was first introduced by VMware in the late '90s. Jim Matson of VMware once explained (I cannot track the reference quickly - sorry) that the reason you have to reboot twice when installing the Hyper-V feature (don't know of any feature that requires two reboots) is that in a certain way the host Windows operating system itself needs to virtualized.
To any operating system EVERYTHING - including itself - is a file although files like devices and directories have special characterizations.
Up and running on 14342. I guess I'll poke around a bit to see if anything obvious is changed. The one thing I noticed is that this update took longer than going to 14332.
I'm gettin g 14342 in my virtual machine Windows 10 . Downloading now. Strange that Brink has not announced it.
The first restart came in under 7 minutes for download and prep and moving along a bit faster then the 328 and 332 builds with the 332 having taken the longest time. I'll now be waiting for the 342 ISO if that becomes available for a new 7 to 10 TH2 to 332 upgrade by mounted ISO enabling the Get insider builds to see the 342 arrive.
Someone else posted the thread announcing the 342 build. Due to severe weather concerns I can understand why Shawn may not have had a chance once again to post. I just hope he is in a safe place at the present. Been following the reports lately!
