OK, so I had to go through a whole set of hoops to get this new build installed, but finally, it is going forward on my desktop. Part 3 of 3 now.

Thanks, the U/G must have changed the Folder options - I always have had this set - but I hadn't checked there til you pointed it out :)
It has also reset the hide protected operating system files (recommended). First time that has happened in an U/G too.
It's so long since I reset these options that I'll have to go through them all to see what I really want
I don't know why new builds will show up immediately for some and not others. I've had this happen with a couple of builds. When it does show up for you I think you'll be pleased with it. MS has made some really good changes in this build. I liked the new Start Menu the first time I used it.
I like the new blank Update & secuity tile its nearly invisible , via the all apps option, it takes you there but when i hit the back arrow get a blank settings window ooops sorry tile...
and i've still got 2 one drive app tiles.
Edging on firefox & palemoon also a lot better.

As Winuser said, I sure can't figure out the logic to it. Usually I've been getting them a few hours after most folks here seem to. Sometimes they don't show up until the next morning. 14316 showed up before I even saw the announcement. I don't think anyone knows how it works - it just happens
My guess is that there is some sort of priority list when it comes to who gets the updates first. I know I got my update right at noon yesterday, Eastern Time.
Quantum Break reported itself as not installed after the upgrade, although the 67 GB worth of files was still sitting on my SSD. Might be a little Windows Store bug there.
