Shawn produced a very comprehensive tutorial on this, here:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4...dows-10-a.html
It's "God Mode". To supplement Shawn's tutorial, here's a simple way to get it right on the Desktop right-click context menu. Unzip, edit with notepad to change the entry name to whatever you like. Choose to add it to the top, middle, or bottom of context menu by merging (open with Explorer) the appropriate .reg file.
The Uninstall .reg simply undoes the entry. A convenient extra to using "God Mode" is the ability to right-click any entry and create a shortcut on the Desktop. Very handy!
The problem could be that those items may not be available in the finished product?
But that is an outside chance, as they appear to be so far behind that there are still Windows 7 and 8 functions and shortcuts lingering in the Windows 10
I say again - "So far"

Absolutely. Also, most of the instructions I run across any more say: Click/tap this or that button . . .
I get along quite well with my mouse and keyboard; in fact, my RCA 11.6" Android tablet now owns its own keyboard and mouse because I hate having to touch the screen. My cell phone has a stylus and I may even see if I can stick it on the RCA's keyboard, which has room for three Bluetooth devices. Of course, this would be just to see if it can be done. :)
I guess I am going in the same direction. I have a beautiful touchscreen, but still find it more convenient to click and point with the mouse, held permanently in my hand. Old habits perhaps.
All this moving stuff around in the OS is normal Microsoft fare in the latest version. Everyone moaned about Vista and Seven and 8 in the same way. I fear a large number of 7 users will be disappointed when they are upgraded en mass to Ten. 8 users not so much. Since Microsoft are insisting on a touch interface I am insisting on a mouse keyboard interface and don't care if it is free. I have made up my mind I'll be staying on 7 except for one or two 10 installs so I know whatsup...7 is free for me too since I already have it installed.
To each his own, Indiana, but for me, the mouse works just as well in Windows 10 as it did in Windows 7 or 8.1. As to the keyboard, there's no comparison between the on-screen and physical keyboard. :)
I liked Vista from the outset and Windows 7 was a total improvement over Vista. I tested both from the Alpha stage and both were completely usable. The only problem with Vista was that Marketing wouldn't allow the devs to work out the final bugs; thus, it got a bad rep. Service Pack 1 wasn't quick enough to control the damage done by the media. To a lesser extent, Windows 7 was released a bit early; however, the media didn't pan it as badly. The rest is history, as they say.
Just as I adapted to Windows 8/8.1, so I will adapt to Windows 10. Would I have adapted as readily if I hadn't first worked with Windows 8/8.1? Who knows, but I like Windows 10 much better than Windows 7 or 8.1. It's faster and easier to understand, even with Control Panel vs Settings. :)
Give Windows 10 half a chance, and when the time comes, I'd bet ya a nickel that you'll upgrade.
I am particularly miffed over media center being killed off as I use 3 machines with it so they have to stay on 7 and frankly most of the rest of my machines will too. I will probably dual boot on my 2 main machines and blow away the 8.1 installs........Or not. Microsoft may redeem themselves yet with a classic Windows 2000 type theme and a Full Windows 7 theme. I doubt it. I feel we have a collection of touch based fan boys who adore the stupid simplistic look. Here we are in 2015 and I can have 2 color icons on my desktop........nice.....my circa 1997 Windows 95 PII 128mb ram 4 meg ATI video card did better than that with animated icons from the Plus Pack.
