But with 10 you don't need to create a custom image, it does it internally or externally from the Cloud like Groze said.
That is what SFC and DISM respectively do already. Along with recimg to make your own "recovery image" there doesn't seem to be anything new here.

The compression however is excellent - my windows compression ratio was 85% and my Windows 10 image is under 3 GB excluding page file etc - a saving of 14 GB Microsoft promises less disk space Win10 - Windows 10 Forums

What makes you guys think that this is cloud based. What about the guy that installed with a local account.

Good question.. I would think that MS would have it based on each individuals PC so they can make the recovery image on their PC and not the cloud.

Is there anything better than Kari's sysprep method or simply a clean and customized image backup? :)

Sysprep is nice, but not for the faint at heart. And images are always good - but only very few people make images. You can't go by what the crowd here does. Out on the street, imaging is quasi unknown.

We teach imaging at the local computer club. People attend those classes but then they still don't do it. Weeks later they want you to fix their system because they caught a virus and when you ask for where the images are - nothing.
