Releasing the same build while changing the number. No offense meant as I was just posting my thought

They have to put something out this week, or their credibility is going to be in the toilet.
How is it? These are Technical Previews, we're not pre-paying customers waiting for our overdue digital downloads. Why should they rush something out to appease a few people stamping their feet only to get thousands of people telling them about major bugs they're already well aware of (for those that even bother using the feedback tool)?

Microsoft's reputation won't be affected at all as the vast majority of people who will end up using Windows 10 don't even know that this testing phase is going on.

Dude, of course it's a bad idea. I was making a joke! Didn't you see the smiley?

OTOH, I'm not kidding about their credibility going into the toilet...

Here's how it is. Gabe Aul promised a release by the end of February, which got a lot of people in the most enthusiastic demographic that Windows has quite excited and getting prepared for it. Then, nothing for over 2 weeks. And all the talk about accelerated releases, but being unable to deliver. That's how it hurts their cred.

I don't say they should release buggy crap - I'm just saying that they are not able to deliver on what they've said they were going to do, and that hurts their credibility going forward. More communication about what's going on would be help.

MS can only deliver on what they can do not on a promise that they can't keep. If they can't clear up the bugs they're not going to dump a build. And in the long run they need to push for the release date and not focus on the preview right now. In my mind developing a great final product is far more important that dropping preview builds.

It seems like people are willfully misunderstanding me. I don't say they should release code that isn't ready. I'm saying that if you cultivate a band of 'Windows Insiders', tell them how much you value their feedback, etc., etc., you can't then just say 'oh well, preview builds aren't important' and ignore the people you have been saying are valued testers offering valuable feedback.

I understand what you are saying, and some others. I'm just saying that maybe MS shouldn't promise what it can't deliver, or, if it can't, be a lot more clear about what's going on.

That said, the new build is coming in right now on Windows Update...
