I have now RTM version of Windows 10 (10586.164) and activated :)
You should backup your current version to an external HDD( use Macrium Reflect or similar utility), go to Settings, Update & Security, select Advanced options and move the slider to far right(Fast ring). Insider preview builds are not stable so expect some bugs. If you don't like the Insider build for any reason, you could recover your stable current OS with the utility you created the backup.

You are correct; when it asks for a key, just insert your Windows 7 key; that's the easiest way.

If you have Windows 10 10586 already activated on your PC, any upgrade to an Insider build will automatically activate - you do not need to use any key.

If installing onto a different PC, it will require a valid key.

One more thing . . . If you've had Windows 10 on that system before, you won't have to use the Windows 7 key; it should have been activated.

Looks like we cross posted each other, Fafhrd! Never hurts though. :)

Hey Wynona, have you tried copying/pasting the different links in notepad and comparing? Might have something to do with redirects. Just a guess though.
I did that, and visible difference is only in problematic link being 1 digit longer in the last reference (two comparable Amazon links)
