But it has been there for ages. Only in different location (as I've said before). it is still there.

Nope, that's not it. I just checked and that is turned on on my system yet the app is not listed in the Manage Optional Feature list. That app is related to a different feature, not the remote assistance feature.

So nobody have this app, but me?

BTW, I didn't say that that app is the same. I meant to say, that it will probably supersede it in the future.

We tested it in Vista and Windows 7, Andre. It had a different name, which I've forgotten, but we BTs paired up and explored each other's machines.

I'm glad to see it back, because that means I can help my Win 10 Newbie friend without having to drive ten miles to her house.
@Wynona have to answer again: was it like this?

"For the past couple of years Microsoft has had a program called Quick Assist. This program provides pretty much all Microsoft employees with a number of free technical support incidents each year. We get these free incidents in the form of a credit card with information on how to redeem. We use these quick assist cards for customers, partners, family, friends, etc. we encounter who need help with a Microsoft product."

    It is from 2006

No, nothing like that at all. Mine was Remote Assistance and we tested it in the Betas. Either your post or someone else's jogged my memory about the name of it.

The scammer's post seems to be removed. I hope you geeks who managed to see it did not click the link. If you did, please notice that it was one of those scam sites which mask them as "official MS support" but are there only for your money.

If I can't see in the status bar where a link goes....? Forget it!

Even if I can always copy & paste it in to Virus Total online,
    if it's hidden,
    it's not worth my time.
