Or use Microphone input instead of Line In, it's more sensitive and gain can be controlled better.
Instamatic overload! You wouldn't get any quality sound as well as too much input. You have to remember the gear used here at the time was analog stereo not anything digital. From the RCA analog output jacks on the old tape deck to the Line-in on the sound card was how that worked.

    Seen through the speakers :)
End results were realized when the music saw amplification by way of the pc speakers which have their own self contained amp. Some 13yrs. later I still have the same 5.1 speaker set that has seen a number of builds over the years in use on the present. Can't knock that any!

So I got a wild idea today to give this build another shot, but to do a clean install instead of an in place upgrade from 279, which had been an in place upgrade from 11099, and what do you know...seems to be working fine so far. No DWM crashes while gaming and no random Explorer.exe crashes either. Awesome.

Now I just have to get everything set back up.

Getting everything back how you had it is the only real drawback to a clean install that I can see.

I clean installed 14295 to dual boot with Windows 10 Retail onto a new 500GB SSD, so I'm probably going to leave things alone for awhile.

Thinking about dual booting myself pretty soon. One install for goofing around with, the other for work/gaming.

I already am dual booting here only with 7 on a separate drive. Having each OS as an independent stand alone OS prevents any number of potential problems. The EasyBCD does seem to go one step further in keeping things simplified without the need to call up the boot device menu but simply choose 7 when wanting to boot into the older version there now that 10 is set as the default OS that is. :)

Just backed up the Sources entire folder to the second storage to see that made into a new iso image for this build since I can use that to test the idea of not needing to convert the esd to iso in order to see a fresh install go on VM for the time being. So far still no bugs to report including the sound files sounding off as they should when assigned to a particular function. Still ended up having to use the 8.1 update since the 10 wouldn't detect the card present despite being the correct download?! The web updater from the 8.1 unpacked files set up there however used the web updater to get the latest 10 update being the 1.5.1 to replace the 1.2.

And we are now looking at the Redstone 1 Preview build according to the latest blogs seen. Windows 10: Microsoft reveals new look for Start menu in Anniversary Update | ZDNet

I decided to wait and see instead of applying any "how to get Insider builds faster" tricks when the first day did not bring me the 14316 Pro upgrade. As I mentioned earlier the 32 bit 14295 Pro got the upgrade within minutes it being released, as did 64 bit Education. The problem was 64 bit Pro versions.

After a long wait, US English 14295 Pro x64 finally found the new build this morning. UK English 14295 Pro x64 s still waiting... Both machines been on and idle all the time.

This just to calm those Insiders who do not receive new builds as soon as Gabe has tweeted about them: they will come :)

Which ISP are you with Dencal? - I'm with BT thru Openreach, and I seem to get builds pretty much on time.

Nothing in Programs and Features here regarding "Bash on Ubuntu on Windows" already have "use developer features" selected- what to do?

minimizing Edge shuts it down, and no taskbar underline for Modern apps -Edge, Store, Settings etc.???
