Microsoft officially started 41 years ago today. On April 4, 1975, co-founders Paul Allen and Bill Gates launched their business to sell the Altair BASIC interpreter that was used on the MITS Altair 8800 personal computer. The company started in Albuquerque, New Mexico but moved to its present worldwide office in Redmond, Washington in 1979.

Every great company has a story, and Microsoft is no exception to that. The Redmond giant was officially founded 41 years today in 1975 when co-founders Paul Allen launched a business to sell the Altair BASIC interpreter for the MITS Altair 8800 personal computer.

    Hi there.

I must be a little older than Ms then !!!!

So at least it shows that there was actually Life on this Planet before Ms !!!!!.

Over the years though in spite of all the snipes Ms and big business has had to put up with I think we are much better off WITH Ms than without it -- not forgetting that the founders have given a HUGE amount of aid all over the planet (Gates Foundation).

    Happy Birthday Ms

    Cheers
