One question: I just noticed, that the ESDtoISO tool has been updated in january an I have been using the old one. Are my ISOs corrupted?

yea but I can talk to my TV in here and have it do pretty much anthing Anrdoid & Sony and fetch me programs ,movies ,sports ,stats ,weather ,Stocks,channels , You Tube ,Google search and plenty of other stuff and it can talk back to me too

Sounds like you got a good deal on all that and your mouse the last wireless mouse I had was too slow but was cheap no name and not a Logitec

Logitech stuff usually works well I been using some of thier Joysticks & mice since XP & before that ..I still have my USB Logitech thrust master or whatever it is from Win 95 or 98 but I use the G27 wheel or a hacked PS3 controller or KB+_mouse on PC gaming now .

And that's probably the reason, why smart users saved ISOs and esd files. I have only ISOs . OK, at least there is download to latest ISO.

Thanks for the heads up I think I downloaded one well before this insider build. I still haven't made an ISO from the 14295 ESD I copied yet but it worked last time I needed to use an ISO so I probably have your January update
it wasnt quite that far back IRRC but I'll download it anyway .
I keep the ESD's I want to keep in the same named folders as the ISO's and delete the older ones beyond maybe 3 test builds or the turds if I don't make DVD coasters out of the good ones

Repeated the test on a real physical PC, same error. Got a new ESD from another machine, made a second ISO from this different ESD of the same build and bit version. Same install media error on both virtual and physical computers. Hunted down more current crypto keys and updated the tool.

I always do the same test cycle before posting about if the tool was updated or not. Two installs, one virtual one real. That's the extent of my "scientific approach".

Based on the above, I can say that an ISO made from the current Insider build and a few previous ones works if and when it is done using the tool available for download now, which was updated late January. Using an older version of the tool might or might not work in creating a functioning Windows install media.

Not much damage done here anyway. I'll download the latest ISO from MS.

And, BTW - looks scientific enough for me :)
