Hmm! I wonder why they are doing this. If I remember correctly I was told very few people wanted this.

Didn't MS shut down the feedback/requests site?
    I can't find it.

File Explorer tabs was the #4 request in October 2014.

File Explorer is weak in W10. Hopefully, this will improve the ability to open new windows/tabs and make file use easier.

    I meant the website version.

The last time I opened that Feedback App was before MS made it mandatory to use an online account.

Yeah, they shut down the UserVoice sites, which was a mistake IMO because with the UserVoice sites it was possible to just go to the website and give feedback. With this new Feedback system if you have your Windows 'Diagnostic and Usage Data' settings set to 'Basic' it won't even let you submit feedback. Which means, with my settings for example I can't give Microsoft feedback even if I wanted to, so I just moan about Microsoft bugs and problems across the internets instead.

To be honest though, I used to see very little action taken on feedback anyway. They'd pick one or two examples of something they changed as a result of feedback, but it was usually something rather trivial and not something I heard many 'real life' users complain about. There were far more important issues I had seen reported that were just totally ignored.

I think it's a bit odd that they put the ownness on their users to tell them what's wrong anyway. I could literally clean install Windows 10 on a machine, play with it for less than a week just doing real life things on it and find many bugs and design issues, so the problem seems to be that for the last 4-5 years, Microsoft have slipped compared to how they used to be. Surely as a software company, that's kind of their job? You wouldn't expect to have to keep telling the pilot when the plane's flying at an angle, you'd kinda hope that as a professional he'd already know if the planes flying straight or not.

How is it weak? Its the same as Windows 7 and 8. File management is pretty easy already.

If they make File Explorer better than Free Commander XE, then I'll be interested. Otherwise...
That's my "go to" file manager too. I wish MS would either either compete with FC and XYPlorer, or go minimalist.

Actually, I liked the old XP explorer, where you could customize the windows. Not all windows need tool bars and a tree... just a list or icons.
