I must have misunderstood you thinking there were analog clock faces for the additional time zones like win 7 that looks just like mine

We've come a long way since the old round screen TV's with only 12 VHF channels and if you were lucky 3 of them were used. :)

You ain't kidding we had a rooftop antenna and 4 Channels growing up then some VHF stuff reached us outa frisco and the Comcast analog Cable can me in when I was on my own some years later.

Growing up we had like 21" & 23 or 24" B/W TVs and then a big Curtis Mathes aircraft carrier with a 6 stereo speakers AM /FM /stereo radio /phono and a CTC 12 clone 21" color roundie on the old SD NTFS ( never the same color twice ) TV .signals we all had before HDTV that one had UHF also

After some various sets the 2 Sony Wega CRT and the Sony trinitron CRT before that I had before the flat panels here were real decent color wise one was an 36" HD Sony XBR-WEGA CRT that maybe weighed 175-200 + lbs

I couldn't kill those things had too give them away OTOH that old Curtis mathes CTC 12 clone the folks had before the maggy was on a first name basis with the repair shop it got replaced in 1971 or so with a much better Magnavox 25" combo that was decently stable ,better color ,brightness ,tuner and contrast and good flesh tones with a better stereo in it .

OTOH nothing could touch the CM cabinets back in the '60's or since outside of a custom and their cabinet shops did some work for Drexel for some other TV's maybe overflow I don't know and maybe some semi customs and some TOTL TV's & stuff outside of thier brand .

That huge Curtis Mathes my folks had was was huge Nice furniture though saw a lot of history on that thing .before the MSM news went left they got it all wrong now the way they spin it ... it or they just skip it and make something up. and the other side could be more accurate too then and now I was there !

I have 5 newer sets here the platt Sony 4K in here and Samsung 64f8500 are the top dogs here if you know about those Sammy's you know one of the best 1080p TV's on the planet outside OLED or one of these new HDR 4K Sony LCD TV upscaling & remapping it to wide color gamut and 4 K like some of the SUHD Samsung's do real well but Sony been doing all this much longer .

I was so young that I can't remember the size of the screen. All I remember is a round screen with a set of rabbit ears on top. We had channels 3, 6 and 10. Channel 12(PBS) came along later. When we got our first TV with UHF we had channels 17, 29 and 48. In the beginning they were commercial free. I'm don't know your age but do you remember when the stations use to announce that a show was in color?

Early metal & glass CRT COLOR roundies were 15" like an RCA CTC 100 (the first RCA color set U could buy ) but in 1954 you had to have $$ bank for one of those the a lot of the later ones were 19" and 21" most of the floor models were 21" and the table tops could be 19" or 21" roundies .

The TV Stereo part on the bottom (top image ) is very similar to C M color roundie my folks had without that monstrosity bookcase or LP case thing on the top or a tape recorder that one looks to be B/W maybe 23" but a similar cabinet & stereo but there's was a little longer and the TV stuff was on the TV vertically oriented up and down on the right like exactly like an RCA CTC 12 because it was a CTC 12 clone built under licence from RCA with a re labeled RCA delta gun colortron CRT in it .

I worked TV's for a short while in 68 -71 BTW doing bench work and service the gophers couldn't do by swapping tubes and degaussing or something else not real technical or just pulling the chassis for us which was usually the case on some big sets anyway the needed bench work on our 3 color jigs .

.I can still diag and fix flat panel LCD's maybe that's why I like Sony's they don't break much if you get one with a good panel and they use real good parts on the boards especially in the XBR's like this one.

I'm picky about pictures this is my 4th TV in here in maybe as many years but it will do for a while It has 10 bit color ,4K HDR and bt2020 & P-3 DCI theater color well beyond current ATSC 1080p bt709 HDTV so it's good for years to come I was able legitimately repurpose the others anyway.

The in the second image ( bottom ) is a ~mid 1960's RCA CTC 15 21" roundie my guess is 1963-65 maybe or even 66 alongside the more expensive RCA 24"-maybe 25 " New Vista color rectangles during those years.

I dont rember the last RCA CTC roundie chassis # maybe in ~69 or 70 but they used the CTC prefix for a good while after that on the rectangle CRT's and some of the Curtis Mathes made rectangles based on the RCA's were said to be better sets .up though the mid 70's at least until they went with stuffing maybe NEC or Matsushita chassis and maybe tubes in them and later who knows what after the plant burned down and they were in rental stores with garish and ornate cheap cabinets and nothing at like they were just hype of the legacy brand when they were favored by a lot of wealthy folks in the early to mid 60's and had home grown ( not bad ) electronics in them and nice furniture cabinets . Most of the time back then the mid to premium RCA, Magnavox & Zenith sets ruled the roost until the Japanese invasion. and RCA made a ton of everything they kinda owned the consumer electronics market and some of it was decent with an occasional elegant but simple and cheap to make circuits only they could design like nobody else . .

We had one of those on the bottom in the 1940s! It was a Philco. When we turned it off, it took a long time for the bright dot in the middle to finally extinquish itself.

My Windows Snip tool is crashing now after working fine for a while and I use the recommended windows defender and mbam web protection on a metal 19241 install so it would be a simple thing to uninstall that and edit the reg for any scraps of it but I doubt that's the problem it's maybe some errant or incompatible code (on some configurations ) or f** up dll's somewhere.

I must be doing something wrong since I haven't been running into any of this on either the physical or VM 10 installs. And each has been a continuing process of upgrades after upgrades with the second remote pc having gone from the 10240 to a clean install of the 10565 upgraded since and on the main the 10240 saw the 10576 replace that with a fresh install to be continued up until the TH2 went on for 2 1/2months when that suddenly got buggy a month ago. That's when the main started seeing the 14267 and onward to each new build by way of upgrade again having missed two months of builds.

From some earlier posts it appears you are alternating between the normal commercial build of Windows (10586.164) and Fast Lane Insider builds like 14291. I'm not clear on why you are doing this, but if you want to avoid bugs and just use Windows stay with 10586 until the next official build release--that's my advice for what it's worth.
Here I had the TH2 running until it got buggy without any solution for the not able to rename files and folders problem came up. I enabled the Get insider builds at the time to then see the 14267 clean all that up by putting on fresh system files. The next hold off on upgrades while likely be the TH3 when most of the bugs for the new version have been worked out.

I think one of the main problems are a result of it taking a bit longer to smooth things out in each newer version since 8 came along to introduce the dual platform OS standard while 7 enjoyed the "Right out of the Box" rep right from the start still having been a single platform OS. Now MS will have to work twice as hard with 10 to come anywhere near where 7 ended by RC let alone RTM and SP1 time just to come close by TH4!

One of things I do tend to keep going here is consistency which I suspect is why I have been avoiding most of the bugs! Not from having missed the 11092 and the others before the 10267 was out during the two month in Insider builds. You may to review any changes you have made in between builds to see what could be a potential source. It was on the TH2 at least that I settled on what would be running on 10 for the most part and sticking to that combination seems to be working out despite the goof seen after the interim periiod with 10586.

I haven't missed anything starting at 10029 early last year with mixed results some good some horrible some just OK and I'm not sure about 10291 just yet until I poke around and see what can be fixed . or not or if I wanna just boot into 10586th2 until the next build .

I don't think it will come to that at this point the last build was worse * here * anyway . . A Clean install from media or mounting the 10429 ISO would also be an option if I couldn't just clean install from the windows security / recovery app a lot of variables along with whatever shakes out on these forums. it's not a life and death imperative with a stable 10586th2 OS on this metal ,back ups and 3 other win 10 PC 's here and mounting an ISO in a folder like I had to do last time for 10279 to install at all is soooooo easy !

I just went to use the additional clocks option here you bring from the clock on the system tray and not a problem adding a couple of random time zones in!!

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14291 for PC and Mobile-addition-clocks-option-14291-insider-preview.jpg

Once you bring the cursor over the main clock option on the taskbar which can also be hidden or removed those others simply spring out at you! I have to suspect that something is preventing a normal upgrade between builds as to where the problems are being seen with the results being buggy upgrade installs!

This is where I keep coming back to the need to keep things consistent once you have something going well. If a newer build gets too buggy I will simply toss a fresh copy of the TH2 on again and let that upgrade to the latest.
