    - Microsoft releases Windows 8

•users scream "Start Screen!? What the hell is that!?"

    - Microsoft says "Oops, here's your Start Menu back"

    • users scream "Hey, where's my Start Screen!?"

    - Microsoft sighs, "Okay, here's the best of both worlds"

    • users scream "Well that sucks, where's my Charms Bar!?

    - Microsoft gives up!

    Hi

For the first time since Windows 7 came out i'm not using a 3rd party app to access my start menu.
While I'd still like to have the fly-out windows of Windows XP I can live with the native start setup in Windows 10.

I do use Rocket Dock and have for many years which takes care of 90% of my day to day links.
Anyone who hasn't tried it should at least give it a go.

    It's free and works great.

I'm using Stardock's Start10 and like it a lot. The reason there continues to be interest in third party start menu replacements is the default start menu in Windows 10 does not offer the same functionality we had in "7". In any case the beauty of Windows has always been the ability to customize and personalize it. vive la différence

I tried the W10 startmenu, but I prefer ClassicShell, because I use the menuoption, so it opens up immediatly when you hover the pointer on e.g. programs . Only problem is that it won't match the standard black.

Classic Shell is far superior and it is free.
