Whether one should or should not do image restoration when cleaning up an un-installation mess or reviving a slow machine is up to the individual. But it may take you days and your sanity trying to fix your issues while it only takes 5 minutes to create an image and 15 minutes to restore from image. I will even spend one full hour just to fix the problem once and for all and carry on like nothing happened. I keep 2 versions of images... one clean installed with all my programs, and one current.

Revo UN-installer works well for me and the personal one is free. EDIT: And it works fine in build 9926.
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
I don't believe revo works to well with 64 bit.
System images are allot better than system restore to an earlier time for sure but not everyone has multiple internal or external drives handy.
I haven't had any problems running Revo in Win 10 64bit.
I have always made restore points and image files, but sometimes you can uninstall a program and it doesn't always get rid of all the files it installed. restore points are only good if you make them for each install of a program and if you overlap you are guessing
