Recovering drunk.. 10 years coming the the end of March.,
good for you , it took me 30years to slow down and become a sociable beer drinker 12 years ago ,something I wish my older brother could have done before he died at 25,almost 43 years ago ,and the person who taught us to drink, my uncle, never did stop, and iam not sure he ever cared to try ,still drinks beer and smokes 2 packs a day at 85

They always did say God takes care of drunks and little children.
For me it's just too dangerous to drink anything other than non-alcoholic, so I just don't. I didn't want to turn out like my father and my brother.

Damn near killed my best friend in a terrible car wreck in '88, haven't had a drop since.

You're not alone. I've stopped drinking because of my wife and son. When I'm drinking I simply forget that I'm a husband and a father, all sense of responsibility goes away and everybody pays for my terrible mistakes. In the beginning AA helped me a lot.
BunnyJ, congrats for your 10 years. One day I get there...

I've read thousands of words now, on the change of the Recycle Bin icon. Really?
Maybe that is a good sign.
Perhaps people think that everything else is so good, the only thing they can complain about is the icons.

Nothing stronger than beer for me & max of 6 a week keeps me on the straight and narrow (I think)

More friends of "Bill" here than I would have imagined. I have the one-day pin, several one-month pins, and even a one-year pin. Finished doing my last "research" last Oct. Losing my family just was not worth it...
Or was it a coin?

Hmmm, just saw this.

I just saw this written on the rear of an old rusty truck:
"When I was young, strong and slim, I was a Corvette"
That sounds how we oldies brag for our children ... "when I was a boy, we had to get up very early, sometimes we must get up ½ hour before we was going to bed!"
