I think one of those backblaze studies indicated the Hitachi's were more reliable than others.
My new desktop has a Seagate 1TB HDD. As soon as my SSD comes in the HDD is going to be my data drive.
I have 4 seagate drives the first one I got was a 1TB storage drive about 4 years ago.Have two 2TB storage.Just brought a 3TB expansion a month ago.
The only trouble i've had is the 1 TB became corrupted after about a year and a half thankfully i found a recovery program that worked abd was able to retrieve most of the data, after re formatting it I've had no problems with it since .
No problems with the others so far.
I just dug out a old 1.5 GB Seagate FreeAgent Desk drive that I had put away and forgot about. I've only had one problem with it. Since day one it's had a clicking noise. I searched the internet and found tips suggesting to turn it upside down. I tried it and it actually worked. Except for the clicking it's been a very dependable drive.
