So Windows Phone may follow in the footsteps of Zune!

This is too bad. I love my Windows phone. This is my computer for on the go. For the $49 that I paid (unlocked) it was the best investment I ever made.

Samsung has Sidesync app which allows the phone to be run through pc or tablet. Seems to be pretty much the same thing as what MS is showing in that link. Samsung does it with wifi so no cables or anything else needed. Been out since the release of the s6 I think, nearly a year now.

Thanks, doorules. I checked it out. It's a Samsung app.

It can be connected with a USB cable or connect the same Wi-Fi network.

This is liken to the modern Windows phone app that MS has had since W8 OS, but this seems to be more sophisticated, although file sharing is nothing new. They also had Project My Screen app.

Continuum is using the phone as a PC, which is much different. Open apps and use, etc.

I'm very happy with my Windows Phone. I for one plan on staying with a Windows Phone for as long as I can. I never had any problems with my Android Phones, I just like my Windows Phone Better.

I never thought the Windows phone would succeed. I have a crummy old Android phone, that still runs jellybean.

I have seriously considered the new Samsung with the Samsung Pay (that can be used almost anywhere). I am even thinking of switching banks, because my Credit Union doesn't support it. But, my roomie's have been twisting my arm for years to switch to an iPhone. I have to admit, the iPhone is truly a great little device.

Without the Windows phones, i am not certain what impact that would have on MS, in the long scheme of things.

My work phone is a Lumia 550, we recently got handed them to replace our Blackberrys. It runs W10 out of the box, initially it was a disaster, so bad it would of instantly put some off. Both the apps and OS were buggy, constant freezes and crashes. However, after finally getting the OS updated and around 40 apps, it's running well, so good in fact that it's enjoyable to use. It makes me wonder how good the top end Lumias would be.

I don't think Windows Phone will disappear, rather it'll slow to a crawl, maybe a handset per year or something. It's a shame as W10 is a lot of fun on a phone (eventually).

I have been with Android (tweaking paradise), then iPhone (enjoyed my stay) and when it died, I have switched to Lumia 640 (because Microsoft). And I intend to stay with MS as long as there are Windows Phones to buy. I have always loved my current smartphone and never regreted my choices...but also never looked back.
