I can only go by my own experience and that is a super fast Windows 7. My boot time is around 15 seconds and for the rest it is also very snappy. And why should I bother with a new OS when mine runs perfectly.
Millions of people complained about Vista as well and yet when you run it on a decent computer there was nothing wrong with it, they also complained about how slow it was, if you run it on a Core i7 with 16GB ram and an SSD let's see how slow it runs.

I never had one ounce of trouble with Vista and yet it was the most hated OS on the planet. I'm willing to bet that most of the people having problems with Windows 10 are running the Insiders programme, well duhh.

I run both the W10 RTM version and the insiders version, no difference in performance. I was ok with Vista even Windows ME. Gave my Win ME to my granddaughters (6 & 8) and they beat the snot out of it for years without issues. I have 3 W10 machines and 1 W7 machine, do 90% of computing time with W7. Its fast and reliable. W10 still runs/uses several W7 type menu's like disk management, and others in the control panel and on and on. W10 will eventually catch up.

They should do the Mojave experiment with Windows 10, same out come. I know why people hate each new version of Windows, it's all the stupid so called expert journalists writing about Windows, they always rubbish each version and naturally everyone believes them because they're "Experts".

    Mojave for Windows 10 - that's a good idea.

The reason I said not as fast or stable as Windows 7 - I have the Samsung 840 Pro SSD in both my laptop and desktop, I don't get as fast performance speeds (according to Samsung Magician) with Windows 10. On my laptop on the Comcast speed test using the wireless adapter I was getting 160 to 170 mbps with Windows 7 and now with the latest version of Windows 10 I get 100 mbps. The older Windows 10 version was 140 to 150 mbps. Also, on a rare occasion on my desktop when I boot up I will get an error when I try to launch many programs they only way to clear this up is to reboot. As I said I do like windows 10 but hopefully Microsoft will fix the performance bugs and other bugs.

There are very few benchmarks where w10 outperforms w7. Be it ssd performance or cpu, gpu related. Not saying one is better than the other, I could use either and be happy to be honest.

Personal experience with "speed" on various devices with Windows 7, 8.1 and 10.
Fastest 8.1 Middle 10, Slowest 7. That is my perceived feeling of speed when using those systems. Benchmarks tends to confirm this (not all tough).
When talking about bugs and stability Windows 10 still has more problems on some systems, some systems just work and are quite stable. I replaced home server from 2008R2 to Windows 10 pro (upgrading server OS was to expensive for home use, and most server specific features isn't necessary) didn't had any stability issues running 24/7.
