Just FYI, checked the SFC /SCANNOW on the .71 image and it still finds errors on opencl.dll as in earlier Builds/cumulative updates (the latest Tech Preview, however, has fixed this issue). A new file has joined the mix in CBS.log: profapi.dll. From what I can find online, this item seems to be browser related, possibly Chrome or Firefox. Very interesting... because DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth still returns "No component store corruption detected." I guess this will be fixed when the Redstone family of releases gets to the current branch, at the latest -- hopefully, earlier than that!

When I checked the file profapi.dll it is only found in my Windows folders, and seemed to be associated with Windows backup.

"Change my environment variables" link is still dead. That fancy editor for system PATH variable is still broken. Registry editor is still broken.

I don't know what they are fixing there, but as long as such blatant bugs remain ignored their efforts will not be taken seriously.
I can go to System Properties / Advanced tab / Environment Variables and edit them no problem even Path, even after this update.

Firstly, as it has been stated many times, by going "System Properties / Advanced tab / Environment Variables" route you get access to administrator's environment variables, not current user's environment variables. See the difference? The only GUI way to access current user's environment variables is "Change my environment variables" link in "Control Panel / User Accounts". There's no other way. And that link it is still dead.

Secondly, the bug in the new system PATH variable editor is as follows: if one hits "New" button to create a new entry in the path list and then hit "Browse" button to populate that new entry, the path one selected will NOT go into the new entry but instead will overwrite the previous entry (!?). This is the bug I was talking to. It existed from the beginning. It is still there.

(The extreme manifestation of this bug is when the PATH list is completely empty: the "Browse" button suddenly becomes dead. It is clickable, but does nothing at all.)

Yes, the link is definitely useless. But forgive my ignorance (I only have one login) - in System Properties / Advanced tab / Environment Variables I see two sections: on top is "User variables for <mylogin>" and below it "System variables". I had no problem clicking new, typing the entry in the Path list and hitting Browse - it left the new entry and gave me the folder browsing dialog - canceling leaves the current entry as is, and selecting a folder places it in the currently selected list entry, in this case the new one. Seems to me it's working as it was intended - Browse will enter a path in the currently selected list entry.

The User variables has a couple I added also some time ago. Can you elaborate as to what other user variables are accessed in the useless link? Thanks!

I wish they would quit configuring these updates so that they reset things such as the websites you have set to run in compatibility mode in IE 11. Every time there's a major update you end up having to go around checking to see what settings it screwed up!

Apparently you are working under an admin account. If your account has admin rights, then "System Properties / Advanced tab / Environment Variables" will do everything for you. No need to worry about that dead link.

However, if you are logged in under the standard user (non-admin), then "System Properties / Advanced tab / Environment Variables" becomes inaccessible to you. More precisely, it will ask your for admin password and take you to admin's environment variables, not your environment variables (top half of "Environment Variables" window).

The only GUI way a non-admin user can edit his own environment variables (top half of "Environment Variables" window) is that link in User Accounts. And now it is dead.

Why did you "type the entry"? The whole idea of browse button is to relieve your from typing and replace it with browsing instead. So, try just hitting "New" and then immediately "Browse" (you know, to fill in the new entry). It doesn't work. It simply either does nothing or replaces the previous entry in the list.

As I mentioned, I only have one account. My big complain is I couldn't get a new plain account without an e-mail/phone to work - I get a profile error thing.

I was trying various permutations, but missed that one. I did try now New/Browse and got the last current entry replacement syndrome ... cancel! Not a big deal since I can do New, enter a space then do Browse and it works fine. Looks like it doesn't accept a blank new entry as an actual list entry, and I can think of how the code is working (or not), but as you say, they should make it work even if it involves some code convolution. Probably low in the priorities.
