I'm wondering if a problem may have been found in the update. The initial news of it sounded as if it was a done deal that was just waiting for Patch Tuesday for release.

Maybe your right, but if a problem has been found then I'm still surprised they didn't just drop it on us anyway. Seems to be the way of the big boys now, just release and hope for the best (Apple are good at doing this too). We are the Guinea pigs! But if they have held back because of a bad bug then I guess that's finally a good thing and behaviour I hope they keep up.

What irritates me, and has for the 20+ years that I've been running Windows, is how inept MS is at communication. Somebody at MS knows what's going on. Why not just tell us? People would understand. As it is, it feels like they're playing games.

Couldn't agree more. I just can't imagine why the idiot who recommended that no news was good news was ever listened to.

An outstanding example is the network discovery fiasco.

In MS circles, silence is indeed, golden.

Isn't "Patch Tuesday" traditionally the second Tuesday in any given month? Perhaps the people who put out the release made a typo by stating "next Tuesday", when they meant to say, "next Patch Tuesday".

I guess there's something like "patch tuesday" doesn't exist anymore. Previous updates were in many cases distributed weekly between tuesday and thursday..
