Hi there
I don't see any update option - do you have to sign in with an Ms account or is this only for office 365 subscribers. I have Office 2016.

Hello, this is my current version of Office. I have the standalone version. I do not use my MS account with Office. Do I have the latest non Insider build, or not, please?
When I check for updates, in Office but also in Windows as well, it tells me that I am up to date.

I believe that this is a Preview Release and you need to be in the Office Insider Program to receive it.

Today about 5pm est, usa. It will show up as an update ready to install on any office app. Then install it. To my knowledge, not an insider here. I could be wrong.

Thank you for confirming, lopedoggie, we have the same version.
Can anyone explain why the versions in my screenshot above are different, one from the other?
The version in the main window is different than the version in the About Excel window.

mine I think is an earlier release but seems to be working now.
Updated it to current release too.
All OK now.

We have a new build for you to put through its paces—16.0.6366.2062. We’ll roll it out over the next few days. To get it now, open an Office app and click File > Account > Update > Update Now.
This build contains fixes for a number of issues, including these two:
•Word 2016 doesn't display your document formatting correctly when you edit a document
•Excel 2016 crashes when using Application.OnKey() to intercept key stroke
