    This is from build 10586.63: Attachment 60254

    I don't have one from earlier sorry. Maybe another member does, all they have to do is find it in C:/Windows and right click>>"send to" compressed (zipped) folder>> then look for it in Desktop and post it.
    Unfortunately, it does not work. It still crashes

    Anyone who has build 10240 running please post a zipped regedit.exe from your system. I will post the same request on my other thread, too.

    Thank you.

    EDIT:
    I've just looked on my other thread and one member has already posted a 10240 build regedit so I will try it and update this post!

    You're welcome Joanne, I'm sorry it didn't work for you(yet?).
    Have you tried thoroughly checking you files and cleaning up the Windows Component store(not to be confused with the App Store)?

    Admin command prompt and copy & paste in:

    fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\&fsutil usn deletejournal /d /n c:&Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&&sfc /scannow&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc /scannow&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase&pause

    Edit: You will need to reboot after!

    Good to hear, if that doesn't work the only other thing I can think of is in my last post.

    At last!!

    After LONG TIME I can see my Registry Editor functioning properly again! :)

    I have applied the RegEdit.exe provided on my other thread. :)

    @Cliff S

    It's okay, thank you for your support! I have not tried yet the commands you give but I will try them right now on my Main OS (10586.63). The Registry Editor is already working on my Insider build because I have replaced it. On my main OS I have not replaced it, yet. Do you suggest me to try your commands first and then replace it with regedit.exe from 10240?

    Thank you.

    Question: Removing Telemetry Service from ISO image with MSGM Tool , will affect WU from getting future preview builds?
    I am pretty sure you don't want to do that, if you want to be in the Insider builds. I've dealt with a lot of people here who removed this, and then ended up reinstalling because of it. If you want to be an Insider, you have to give report data to MS - It's just how it works.

    That would be better as it might fix the problem by cleaning up WinSxS which has copies of regedit when you make changes to it. But... don't do it after you swap regedit out(and it's working) as it will place the original(correct version for that build) back.I recommend you copy and not move the 10240 regedit for this reason, so you will always have a copy of it, and not have to search and download it all over again.

    One problem I'm having. Can't copy into folder C:\Windows. I took ownership of regedit.exe and renamed it regedit_bak.exe. Can't copy previous version into Windows.

    Edit: Annnnndddd, it crashed for me! I got the message: Restarting Regedit (or something like that) with a progress bar, yet! :)

    Dick, did you unblock it first if you downloaded it or got it from another machine, or VM(not sure if needed there but worth a look).
