Regedit doesn't crash on me, no matter what button I press.

    @ Cliff S

    It doesn't work
    It is still crashing..

You said that your file is from your
    11102 build?

IF I recall correctly, the Registry Editor from a MUCH earlier build is the one who is not crashing. A much-much earlier build.

Question: Removing Telemetry Service from ISO image with MSGM Tool , will affect WU from getting future preview builds?

I thought mine might work because it works fine on my system, would you like to try the one from build 10586.63?

There is no issue with registry search so long as what you ask it to find is in the registry--search works fine & perfectly for that, which is why this is a low priority bug. Here's what you can do to see it for yourself:

    1) Run regedit
    2) Search for "Treetop" & select the "match whole string only" option

You will see the normal "searching through registry" box come up, but it will stay up no matter how much time you give it. Hit the cancel button at that point and regedit will crash and then immediately restart. That's the bug. When it's fixed, regedit will simply exit with a "Finished searching through the registry" notification, which will let you know that the item you searched for was not found.

It's a very minor bug and that's why they are taking their time--they have much bigger fish to fry...
I tried this and it didn't crash when I hit the cancel..

    Yes, please, thank you!

There is an entire thread here referring to this issue where they claim that in the builds released before November, 2015, RegEdit was still functioning properly. It is from one of those builds I'd like to try it, if that's possible. Even from build 10240 IF that is possible, please!

    Thank you.

This is from build 10586.63: regedit.zip

I don't have one from earlier sorry. Maybe another member does, all they have to do is find it in C:/Windows and right click>>"send to" compressed (zipped) folder>> then look for it in Desktop and post it.

You realise that WMP hasn't been worked on since the release of Windows 8?
